I saw some posts about automatic chicken coop door on Instagram. To be honest, I thought this kind of product would not cost too much before I searched it on Amazon. But the actual average price is above $150, it really shocked me. I chose this one since it looks pretty cool and the price is reasonable comparing to some other coop door selling on Amazon. This door is worth its price. I’m into the look of the coop door. The color is beautiful. We want this coop door to protect our birds, apparently a bright color, such as red, should not be a wise choice. Dark grey is the right color to avoid getting predators noticed. Another reason why I like it is because the door has no wires around. It is my first time to use a automatic chicken coop door, and I’m not a handy guy; therefore, what I need is a coop door powered by batteries rather than AC. Besides, I don’t feel exposure of wires and cables to weather is safe for my girls. Having an automatic chicken coop door does not mean you can run free from your chickens, but it does help save your life to some degrees.

I love everything about this product, from the price point to the design to the functionality. It's ridiculously easy to install. It has changed our lives - having two young kids at home and having to let the chickens out in the morning and lock them up at night is often forgotten. Now that the girls are let in and out by their robotic doorman, we can focus on our family! Love that you can adjust the velocity and opening time through a variety of different mechanisms. Great, run chicken!

This is our first automatic chicken door. Make sure you install it on a flat and level surface and it will work great.

I’m not a morning person, but I do love my chickens. Before this coop door, I bought a door with remote control, took about $200, and it only worked like 4 months. I saw this product on Instagram, there is a short video about its functions and how it works. One thing attracted me is it works at low temperatures, my previous one stopped working because it’s too cold. I decided to give it a try, and it do work well! The coop door arrived within 2 days, shipped by Amazon. There are several items to help install the chicken coop such as a pencil and a cardboard. If you have not had a automatic chicken coop door before, you will need to do some sawing. But I’ve had one before, so for me I just screwed the door in, powered by battery not cabling needed, it only took about 2 minutes to install it. The door is made of Aluminum, and it looks sturdy enough to protect my chickens form predators. There are three buttons on the top of the door, and according to the instruction, each button has its own function, that’s the reason why I did not choose the other coop door which looks similar to this one. I do not think it will be clear enough to set several different modes by one button. I use light sensor mode rather than the timer mode, and so far there is no problem.

The material is thin and flimsy, screwing it into anything will bend the material, making the door get stuck without closing or opening all the way. Choose another brand.

The media could not be loaded. This automatic chicken coop door surpassed all my expectations and it has given more freedom since I don't have to rush home every night to lock up the chickens. We face a pretty big issue here with a lot of predators since we live along a nature preserve.... And everything loves the taste of chicken. I know my birds are safe and secure now and it is such a relief. Did I mention this door is almost half the price of other automatic chicken coop doors? We actually have one of those expensive ones on our laying chicken coop and I don't feel like there is enough of a difference to splurge for the more expensive one.
