I bought this to use as a kennel. I've got a female black lab just turned seven months old. This kennel is definitely sturdy enough to protect her. I will also be using it as a time out for my boys .(dogs) I really like that it is completely enclosed. I am a 68 years old woman and put the whole coop together by myself. P. S. I used different colors of nail polish to mark the metal parts to make it easier to reassemble....Also, try building an 10 by 20 anything for under $300.00,,,,,,,,,,thank you.... ... show more

It was not as easy as some reviews said, but it took two of us about 2 hours just to put the frame together. There were issues with holes lining up and screws are actually a bit too short. We did use a power drill as a means to put the bolts on, just because it was faster. The wire is very thin plastic coated, easily cut with a pair of scissors and don't need wire cutters. We were able to wrap it with the wire fairly quick, about an hour. The door is a nightmare. It is VERY DIFFICULT to open and close. I will rig something to make it easier to get in and out. There is plenty of the thin wire to cover it and some left over which I am sure I will need when wild critters chew thru it to get at my chickens. I am adding snake guard around the lower area since this wire is so flimsy. This kit does what its intended to do, but you really need to add to the structure to keep chickens safe from predators. Hine sight, I would have ordered the one with flat roof because the slant is difficult to walk under. You have to bend over to walk in this, it's only tall enough directly in the center. I bought a chicken pen from your company, I bought extra anchors to anchor my pen down. The pen was put together according to the instructions. I have 28 chickens that were in the pen when the wind blew and was totally destroyed. I am very upset about how much money I paid for this pen and I almost lost my chickens. ... show more

Great chicken coop but the tarp material is poor quality and lasts only 3-4 weeks with sun and or rain. We had a heavy duty tarp made which covers the entire coop and the upper framework to keep rain off.

    • Very easy to assemble, chicken wire useless
This chicken coop run is very easy to assemble, instructions mostly clear. Tho, you DO need to drill holes to attach corner brackets (they insist all over the box and instructions to not drill or use electric tools, then tell you to drill holes lol) however, the chicken wire included is very thin wire and definitely requires hardware cloth on top top be of any use. So far, I do highly recommend this coop run, though! ... show more

Assembly was super easy. This chicken run can be put together by one person. Attaching the chicken wire is the most difficult part and I would suggest picking up some extras zip ties.     • For in town use only!
Unless you live in town where natural predators are few and far between, or you’re using this “chicken run” for larger animals like goats or something, it’s not that great. The whole thing sits on 6 peg leg type things (probably only 4 if you get the shorter size run), and it doesn’t touch the ground completely. The fencing is NOT CHAIN LINK like I thought. It is plastic coated chicken wire that you have to cut yourself. My main complaints are the legs that raise it and the chicken wire not coming pre cut and only coming with zip ties to secure it. That’s not secure by any means and in the country, chickens wouldn’t last without extra security measures. On top of that, zip ties don’t last that long no matter where you’re at once they’re exposed to the elements. I also lost half of them due to defects alone. So again, it’s great for in town use, not so great for country use unless you want to spend forever and a day fortifying it. The sides are only about 3 ft tall at the most with the peak of the run being the tallest point, obviously. I kind of figured the sides would go up more than they do, but that’s okay. ... show more
