  • They fit fine
1) They aren't meant for the small 1# disposable cylinders 2) They aren't meant for the quick connect hose, only threaded hoses. 3) There is a small, clear protective covering on the stem on the hose end you have to remove for it thread in. It used to be a lot bigger and more obvious, but now it's so small and clear, you have to touch the stem to realize its there. ... show more

  • A good insurance policy to keep things burning.
Item delivered on time, well packaged, and ready to use. Haven't used it a bunch but no glitches so far. Unable to assess durability and long-term performance as yet so 4 stars.

  • Filter not a must anymore.......
i have been using Mr. Heater Buddy's for 20+ years, i remember when they didn't even have the filter, we used to use the 10 ft lines in our campers, and after couple of years the heater would clog, and be rendered useless. when i recently purchased this one, and another 10 ft hose, i wasn't taking any chances, they say with the new hoses, the filter isn't required, but at $15, why not. just be known, they still have hoses of different lengths that have to have the filter installed, or the heater will clog and become useless. ... show more

  • There's better solutions
I got a couple of these for use with a Buddy heater. They screw on the disposable thread ports, but may not be needed. The reason for this seems to be because most rubbers in hoses are made with oils that get "squeezed" out of them under high pressure and go into the fuel stream eventually causing problems in the Buddy heaters. So there are actually 3 ways to deal with this problem. Solution 1: Adding the filter catches the oils (but need routine changing). Solution 2: use an "oil-free" hose which Mr heater created (the F273704). Solution 3: Use a regulated gas supply so the hose isn't "squeezed" so much that oils get extracted. Note, this option can only be done on "Big Buddy" models using the QD port and a hose like the F271803 or F271801. With the filters being a routine cost (versus a 1 time cost for a regulator or the other hose) as well as the filter adding an extra threaded connection (possible leak point), I'm thinking it's best to go with one of the other solutions. I'll use what I got and see how long they last, but wish I didn't go after what can be avoided. When considering if this is needed you may say "Better safe than sorry" and want to add it. Also if you were to have a system of 2 tanks connected by a kit like the F273737 and then have the F273704 hose feeding the heater, the one hose not being the 704 (from that 737 kit) will again force you to need this. Update 12-2017 I've not had any issues, but wanted to add some info & pictures. Some have suggested using the filters even on small tanks to protect the main units threads (while constantly changing the small tanks) or saying "Couldn't there be crud from the small tanks too?" You may be able to use them that way, but the tank won't swing into the vertical position (see picture). Also the filter has a valve on both the inlet and outlet that must be opened by a mating valve (I tried a hose with disposable thread adapter but no gas would flow, see the outside fitting versus middle one). So that may also cause issues for some. ... show more

  • Worked for my heater
I read many reviews for my camping heater to get this item to prevent issues from the 20lb propane tank. Worked as advertised. I will get it again when needed.

  • Fits great
Fits, heater working better now make sure you get a hose that does not emit oils which will eventually clog your filter.
