For the price, you cannot go wrong. I installed this in my basement grow tent which was making my entire house smell. 10 minutes of operation and there is literally no smell. The air coming from the tent smells pure, not a trace of anything at all. The rest of the house even smells better, as I live in an older house with musty basement. (I use hepa/carbon filters on my tent air intakes). The fan creates negative pressure so all air coming out of the tent is going through the filter. I use this fan for my 4x8 tent to keep my humidity at around 60% in veg. Fan goes on and off through out the day. The 4x8 tent get negative pressure on the lowest setting with one 4 inch port open on the bottom of the tent to bring in air. I left off 1 star and gave it a 2 for the noise level. Its very load to me and I wanted to send it back but decided not too. Maybe its so load because I have it on the left side of the tent going out the top side and I can see the fan from the outside of the tent exhaust port. Maybe I need to move it to the center of the room and add a bend to the ducting to lower the noise. Still a great fan and worth the money it moves a lot of air. I bought 2 of these kits since I caught one on sale. I do not regret buying either kit. The fan instantly helped me keep my temps and humidity in check in a small room and a 5x5 tent. Even on low the exhaust fan sucks in the walls of my tent (I need to add an inlet fan to fix this). The carbon filter does a great job at keeping the smell down in both the room and the tent. There is literally no smell at all on the other side of the door or tent. The only 2 things I could complain a little about is that the fan is a little loud and they should have included a 3rd hose clamp in the kit. Even on low, there is no way someone is going to walk in a room with your tent and exhaust running and not wonder what the noise is. Overall this is a great kit and well worth the money. Don't expect it to be whisper quiet and pickup an extra 6" hose clamp before you try to install it and I think you'll be very happy with this kit. ... show more

I purchased this whole kit in 2021 and 3 years later on the same filter it still performs perfect. Controls smelliness well, I regularly hand wash the prefilter and turn off the fan when opening my enclosed tent(So no sucking dust inside) I will be replacing the carbon filter soon.... it's probably time. 2 green thumbs up! ... show more

It works, it does what it's supposed to, but the fan is really unbalanced and it vibrates HARD. Using the bracket it came with makes whatever it's screwed to vibrate pretty bad. I even put foam between the bracket and the surface it's screwed to and it didn't make much difference. The fan is clearly pretty cheaply made. ... show more

For 10 months it's been running great and my building has zero ammonia smell. I have to clean the cloth pre filter weekly as there is a lot of dust in my building.
