I've had a couple of these 8" ducts in use for over a month, which have been repositioned repeatedly while handling nonstop blower output, and have had no problems so far. The multiple layers and the opaque black outside are well-suited for maintaining light discipline for plants that require it. The ductility is par for these kinds of ducts but it does feel more resilient than what you might pick up for your dryer. The ends have zero additional tolerance so getting then over the rim of a duct inlet or blower fan sucks, but that's pretty typical for flexible ducts. Recommended. It seems better quality than the average flexible duct and I don't think it costs too much more, although I didn't comparison shop. If you can get one with equal quality and ends that expand slightly to reduce the pain of getting them attached, I'd go that route, but this duct is probably still going to be better than most.

Metal dryer vent from Lowe's was very flimsy and tore easily causing dryer to not dry well. I came on Amazon to find a replacement and there are tons of Chinese items. I ended up checking out virtually all of the options and landed on one that also had a coating on the outside to make it stronger. I can say that the plastic coating does exactly that: it helps control the hose while installing, has a good feel, and is sealed properly around the vent. My item came properly sized and it fit around both hose hookups. You'll notice reviews saying some of the hoses out there are too small which renders it unusable. Also I recommend getting clamps like the one below or something similar which makes installing the hose WAY easier and the cost of the clamp is less as well. -POWERTEC 70120 4 Inch Key Hose Clamp

AC Infinity is the gold standard for brands. Anything I buy from them is LEAGUES above everything else on the market. I went to Menards and bought the solid aluminum one because I was in a pitch. What a mistake split right in half on the first use with a SLIGHT bend. Doesn't shrink under 3ft long absolute junk. I bought this AC infinity one and it folds down from 8ft to literally 8 inchs. Its very well insulated and flexible. I guess you could cut it back but you really don't need to since its able to be so compact. Tremendous savings, the big box stores only sell Ducting in 32ft+ runs at 60$ a pop. I only needed 2 feet this did the job perfectly. No cutting needed. A++++++
