Received this quickly. Before installation, run down to your home depot and get some 3/8" diameter solid poly rope. Need 4, 6 feet long sections. (I got 3 foot long sections and they are way too short, had to tie 2 ropes together!) Dont waste your time using the supplied rope, they will break. Wish they provided more than 4 grommets to tie down. (3 more on each of the long sides). This only has 4 corner grommets for a 16 foot long cover, which means it isnt held down well and also, there is a lot of strain on the 4 corners. Will see how long it lasts.

I only put up the canopy top about three weeks ago so it is too soon to say whether it will hold its color. However, it fit my pergola perfectly and looks beautiful. It is keeping my patio furniture dry and clean. There are ties on the corners, to secure around the pergola posts, but I was not comfortable that they would stand up to strong and gusty winds during thunderstorms. Since there are narrow pockets on the ends of the cover, I inserted sand-filled poles (which do not come with the cover - the poles came with the original pergola and I purchased sand separately), into them to weigh the cover down in times of high winds. So far, this has worked. My four-star rating will turn to a five-star rating if, over time, the cover resists tears and stays put on days of high winds and summer thunderstorms. The three-star rating on cost is because the cover is pricey. If it holds up for several years, though, then I will consider it a good value for the money. Right now, it is too soon to tell.

The original one I had was trashed from the winds, so I decided to get a new one. After reading the reviews of the one I was going to get that was specific for my pergola, but not porous and way more expensive, I decided to get this one instead and I'm very pleased. I took the rods from my old one and put it in this new one, easy. I like that there are grommets for the ties instead of being sewn into the fabric (like the original that were long ago ripped out and I had improvise), and that the ties were included.
