I bought this for the last road along with the roof bag. I thought it would support the bag's weight (50lbs). Although the bag itself was harnessed with its own straps, I thought it would provide extra support. As soon as I started on freeway (may 70mph), I heard weird thunking sound. So I got off, and found the rack was moved and the clips which held the rack was out of position. I switched to other clips which came in the package. None of them worked. It made so many scratches on the roof. I tried driving around 60 mph or less. But it never stayed in place. I gave up after 100 miles of my trip. By the way, the roof bag I bought held up on its own straps. I guess I didn't need to buy the rack. Don't buy this garbage.

all metal assembly. took a while to size my size and everything attaches very solid when all done. had to purchase another box for the actual ski rack - this is just the base. good outcome when all is said an done. lots of part options and rubber protectors for your roof.

I mounted the cross bars on a Kia Forte. It worked very well for our road trip. We put a rooftop bag in between the two bars and was able to secure our items with out a problem. The roof bag we used is by Midabao and did not leak at all. It rained 11 hours of the 12 hour drive home.

this rack came without instructions prepare to use your imagination, once installed tried to use it to carry our kayak which 45 pounds each we have two. lets do some quick math 45+ 45+ 15 pound of a kayak carrier= that is a total of 105 lb it the limit is 150lb why would the be bending nearly into our roof? Meaning that it can not hold 150lb. we used it twice and both times it looked like it was going to snap in two. in order to lock the adjustable bracket you will need a hammer or mallet to smash it in otherwise it will be too loose for comfort. the racks are so loud whether you are going 20, 30, 50,70mph it will be loud.

Got product installed on 2019 Kia Sorento and bought a kayak stand as well. Put the kayaks and strapped everything good and tight and bottom bracket holding to the car snaps and breaks on one mounting rail. Wouldn't recommend this product to others.
