Working from home, my spouse and I wanted to quiet down the rooms we were working out of, plus damper the noise from our new home theater. Our doors are hollow and let a decent amount of noise through. We searched for various panels, but wanted something that would match the white doors close and cover up the 6-panels without looking too out of place. These fit the bill being the same color and size if I cut one panel in half - they covered the 6 panels on each door. Cutting was easy to do, though the panels don't necessarily line up all the way from the factory so perfection isn't totally possible, though in our case you can't tell a whole lot. I tacked them on to the back of the doors using 6 small nails that you can barely see the heads and they don't budge. We immediately noticed a difference in the lack of sound coming from the basement, reducing a lot of the fan, washing machine, and general noise. So far they work great taking some of the low to mid frequency sound out of the rest of the house. ... show more

I originally ordered a single box and was very pleased with these acoustic panels. I decided to order three more boxes to cover my home office wall. I was surprised/displeased to find the new box of panels was MUCH darker than the first order; I opened another box and found that shade somewhere in between the original desired light tan and the dark 2nd box. And the last box didn't match any of the other "Light Tan" panels either. You can see the range of mismatched colors of "Light Tan", exhibiting a manufacturing or felt sourcing inconsistency, even across an order placed on the same date. I am returning all three boxes with the hopes the manufacturer will resolve this issue and can guarantee color consistency, as I otherwise like the product and hope to improve the rating. Update: Upon reviewing my issues with the color consistency, I was immediately contacted by. the manufacturer who offered a rebate without any issues and with genuine apologies. The UMIACOUSTICS team's customer service assures me they're working with their manufacturing to improve color consistency, so I am hoping to complete my wall project soon. I'll update my review to 3 stars for now, with the possibility of increasing the rating if the follow up order matches expectations. ... show more

    • These panels are not 48 x 24 x .4 in. Poor product description.

I really needed these to be 24x48 to fill out a framed area, they are too small, very disappointed that the company cant make the dimensions they are advertising. They are about a half inch short in both directions. They do reduce noise. But do not expect these to eliminate sound in your space, they absorb echoes that might happen around your space. Updated: The seller contacted us quickly about the panels we ordered and made amends. We ended up ordering more for the simple reason that we were building a series of sound barriers and wanted to keep the aesthetic consistent. It would have been a lot nicer if the panels were 24x48. ... show more

I installed in a reception area that had a lot of reverberation/echo. I hung them up with two screws, one in each to corner and covered the screw head with metal caps. Looks good and significantly cut down the noise with minimal effort.

These are very easy to install. I used double sided adhesive, which has held well even on the ceiling. The stiffness and structure of the panels makes them very easy to work with. They are not the thickest or densest panels you can get, but ease of installation was a priority for me, and these fit the bill. Created some quieter sleep spaces in my master bedroom I made a headboard for my bed to quiet the noise coming from the interior wall, since it’s not insulated. I put it in my kids room and they aren’t waking up in the middle of the night as much. I had ordered the tan and decided to add it as an accent to the living room wall.
