This is not so much a soundproof box when you first open the package. It's a flattened canvas "box" that comes with several sheets of soundproofing foam, which you need to fit into the canvas box as best as you can. They do not fit easily because they're all the exact length of the sides of the box, which doesn't account for the fact they're also 1-2" thick and so you need to sort of stuff the soundproofing material in even though it is too big for the box. You then have to cut a hole to fit wires through, if needed. It serves its purpose, but I sort of expected it to come already put together. That said, it works great for keeping my rock tumbler quiet.

This worked amazing for reducing not only the echo I was getting in my recording area but it eliminated all the background noises from the nearby interstate. Perfect for podcasters. On the downside it is rather flimsy and easy to break as it's sides are made of balsa wood.

It does the job quite well, though it takes up quite a bit of space. As mentioned in the title the assembly was not easy as you have to force these phone bits into the given square. I could rarely get it to look like the picture displayed as the foam bits heavily intersect with each other and I had to brute force it to appropriately fit all of them in there. It looks slightly like the foam wants to burst out of the container and at me.

For the price, this is 5 stars all the way. For voice acting, I’m using this mini sound booth as my first home booth. The sound is much softer and with far less (nearly none!) outside noises. The padding is on all sides but the front which is ideal (other products leave off the roof and floor). Easy to set up - just soak in water and toss in the dryer until fully dry. I’m thrilled at the sound quality boost this has offered me on a budget. Would recommend.

If you know what you're getting - you'll likely not be disappointed. This item will not create a soundproof space. That car outside your open window will still get picked up. This item will help you minimize sound reflection. It has an open face, so you'll have to take another step to minimize reflection there, but for the price this is a good place to start. I'm not a professional in the sense that I do voice recording full time. I have projects that require voiceover occasionally and somehow I got chosen to do them. The TroyStudio portable sound recording booth box cuts down on the awful reflection in my, now, smaller office space. I have to make sure there isn't traffic when I'm doing a take. I have to make sure my cat, Homer, isn't whining on the other side of my office door. But, when the surroundings are working for me, this portable isolator shines. I don't mean to make that sound limiting by any means. Just be aware your surroundings. Added bonus: it comes apart and packs away nicely.

I should have taken photos, but others shared already. Very poor quality indeed. Upon unboxing then assembling was SHOCKED to discover this looks more like a child's failed science project than any sound vocal booth... What you get are weak dense foam cutouts that DO NOT MATCH the listing. With lame rubber 'bands' that supposedly hold the cutouts together. Seriously, for real. And do not stand firmly either way. Did NOT fit my standard mic stand, which I've used for many a video recording. Very cheaply produced, no excuses. The listing should be more TroyStudio Portable Play Studio Vocal Box. Because this is in NO WAY "professional" Take you money to a hobby store or fabric shop for real foam blocks
