This vocal booth works perfectly for the application that I need it for. I'm a freelance recording engineer with many years of experience. I will be offering clients personalized mobile services at their homes in the near future. I must be clear that its not 100% soundproof BUT it blocks most of the natural reverb created from space in any room. I've tested a session with myself using a Rode NT1-A condenser microphone that has a very low-noise rating. I also used a mic isolation box seen in the photo. It obviously makes sense to be strategic in where you chose to assemble & place this booth in any recording environment. Do your best to quiet any noises in & around the room while recording your source to get the most out this booth. The "effect" of isolation will be much greater. The isolation blankets are heavy, durable, fit well and easy to hang. The entire assembly is pretty simple as well. I'm more than satisfied & confident that this product will meet my audio service needs to my clients. Its well worth the value for this price! ... show more

I don't have a lot of space, so I needed something small enough to fit in my space that actually works. This has been great! it's works much better than the few moving blankets I had hanging up. It was quick to put together, it's sturdy, and the blankets are thick, much thicker than I anticipated. While it is definitely tiny, I'm able to fit a mic stand (the legs of the stand do poke out of the booth at the bottom), a small side table (15 inches wide x 10.5 inches deep) to hold my laptop and audio interface, and a small stool (if I want to sit and record). More importantly, my cats love it and think it's their own personal cave. So there's that. I'd highly recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to DIY and has limited space for recording. ... show more

UPDATE #2: Got the new blankets, the sewing was much better. I will say the customer service is top notch even though they outsource to China. The booth itself performs flawlessly for cutting reflections/reverb and it is small enough to fit in the corner of a room. Overall happy with the interaction. Update: They refunded me and are sending me new blankets while allowing me to keep the current ones. The sound quality is excellent as is the customer service. I just received this, one strap separated just from the pressure of trying to open the velcro and others are very poorly attached. I have sent an email to the company requesting an exchange. We shall see what happens but I am very, very angry about this. Why is there no hardware attaching the straps, or stitching all around the perimeter of the strap instead of in the middle? A novice at sewing would know better than this and the thread is hardly thick enough to hold the weight. The blankets, floor pad and top are made very well but the frame wobbles quite a bit as if it's not stable enough to hold the weight. For what I paid, the construction of the frame and straps is subpar at best. I did this so I would NOT have to source things from multiple places and spend extra time assembling. And now I need to waste time doing an exchange. Not pleased. ... show more

There's nothing wrong with this booth other than the price - im fully understanding that anything audio is costly, but there truly isnt anything special about this booth that should raise the cost of metal PVC from a few bucks a pop to $800. The blankets definitely do dampen sound... but they are still just regular $40 movers blankets. So in total id imagine they spend less than 100 to make the booth & sell it for 700. for that price i could buy an ISA One or Comp 2A or even the new sony c-80 mic and some mogami cables. This product doesn't equate to what i could get for 800 hahaha. Still keeping it cuz it's better than nothing ... show more

I have a small home studio in my finished basement, which is entirely laminate flooring and drywall. It is a very unforgiving place in which to record. The Snap Studio gives me a phone booth sized area in which I can record vocal performances that sound nearly as good as I could get from a professional studio. It was very easy to set up, and it is lightweight, so moving it after it has been fully assembled is not very difficult. Simple design, well-thought out and executed. I'd definitely recommend it. It is important to point out that the Snap Studio is not intended to be entirely "sound proof." If someone is being noisy just outside the enclosure, you will probably hear them on your recording. Similarly, if someone is standing outside of the Snap Studio, they will probably be able to hear what you are recording if it is anything over a faint whisper. This enclosure is not intended to be 100% "sound proof." The Snap Studio is intended to provide a small, fairly dead space in which to capture audio. At that it works exceedingly well. ... show more
