I recently installed this 42-inch ceiling fan with light, and overall it’s been a solid upgrade for both airflow and lighting in my space. Air circulation is noticeably strong for its size. The wide airflow design does a good job distributing air evenly, and the 6-speed settings make it easy to fine-tune comfort. The lower speeds are gentle enough for nighttime use, while the higher speeds can quickly cool down a warm room. The “natural airflow” mode is a nice touch—it mimics a more outdoor breeze rather than a constant fan push. The reversible DC motor is especially useful across seasons. In summer, it keeps the room comfortably cool, and in winter it helps push warm air back down, which actually makes a difference in heating efficiency in rooms with higher ceilings. Lighting is another strong point. The 3CCT adjustable color temperature range (3000K to 6500K) gives a lot of flexibility, from warm ambient lighting in the evening to bright white light for working or cleaning. I’ve been looking for a lighted ceiling fan to replace the plain domed light fixture in my office and this 42” one from UME fit the bill. While it’s listed as Black, that primarily refers to the mounting fixtures. The fan blades are reversible from black to brown wood grain (what I would call ‘walnut’) so you have your choice of which side to use depending on your color preference. Let me say that, although I’m not an electrician, I’ve installed a few fluorescent shop lights and ceiling fans in my day and assembling and installing this lighted fan was fairly straight forward. The instructions are pretty basic so if you’re not sure, pay for installation. If you’re going DYI, just remember to turn off the appropriate breaker switch before wiring it up. One thing that does help a lot in making the installation easier is the fully functional remote that’s included. Because the fan speed and light dimmer features are controlled by the remote, there’s no need to mess with installing a wall switch with speed and dimmer control. This UME 42” fan and remote control are well made and very well priced. It’s quiet (even on top speed) and the light can be as dim or as bright as you need. I give it a full 5 STAR recommendation.

This is a great fan for a smaller room. Perfect for the bedroom. It has six speeds all of which are very quiet. And the light is outstanding. Its brightness is infinitely variable as is its color temp. You can pick exactly the color and intensity of the light you want. Again, perfect for the bedroom. When you wake up, you can turn on the light nice and dimly with a warm yellowish glow and slowing increase the intensity and color as you wake up. The remote control has all the normal functions you would expect on a high-end ceiling fan including a setting called natural wind. Natural wind is what I set it to when going to bed. It changes speeds randomly during the night somehow giving me a better night's rest. Or if you don't want the fan to run all night there is a timing feature that can be set to two or four hours. But using less than twenty watts, you really don't need to worry about power consumption. This fan will save you money in the long run.

We hung this in an insulated garage to help dry out a boat after fishing in the rain. The fan hangs 7 feet above the boat and emits a good ,quiet breeze on 3. When we tried it on 6 the fan wobbled. There are balancing instructions but we seem to have one warped blade. The remote contains all the functions you need to operate the fan. It’s curious to me that the 52 inch fan is cheaper than the 42 inch.🤷🏼♀️

I installed this UME 42" ceiling fan in a smaller bedroom and have been very happy with it so far. The installation wasn't bad at all, and the instructions were straightforward enough that I had it up and running in a reasonable amount of time. The included remote is quick and responsive, with no noticeable delay when changing speeds or adjusting the light. In the listing for this fan, it implied that settings were remembered if you switch the power off, or there is a power outage. That is not true. The dimmer setting on the light and the color temperature IS remembered, but whether the light or fan are on and off is NOT. After a power outage or turning the switch off and on, the light ALWAYS comes on, and the fan is always off regardless of the prior settings. If you live somewhere where you never have a power outage or don't actually wire this to a switch, that may not be a problem. But in a bedroom in a windy area where the power might go out in the middle of the night, it's a pretty rude awakening when the light comes on by itself after the power comes back on. Because of this, I will have to just unplug the light since we mainly need the fan in our bedroom anyway. That solves one problem, but I would really like the fan to remember what we had it set on before we turned the switch off. All the big box store fans I've ever installed will do that. Also, compared to our prior ceiling fan which was similar, the fan blades are quite ugly, specifically the screw cover. It's a weird rectangle that looks like it's still something exposed that shouldn't be. Our previous similar fan had nice smooth/rounded screw covers that really looked like they belong. These look like an afterthought or something that you forgot to remove during installation. The good thing is if you need a somewhat powerful fan that can go fast, this will do that. However, the bad news is that the lowest setting of 1 is really pretty fast, much faster than I would like. It would be better if the ones setting was a gentle little breeze and then it ramped up from there versus starting quite fast and going super fast at number 6. Overall, even for the relatively inexpensive price of this fan, I cannot recommend it. I will be replacing this with a fan from a big box store as soon as possible.
