So our old motion detector outdoor lighting fixture was slowly dying. I mean, not really surprising, it was easily over 20 years old. We had switched it from incandescent to CFL floods a few years ago in an attempt to make it more energy efficient, but it had gotten to the point that it didn't even come on about half the time anymore. And it seemed like that was always when you really needed it to be working properly the most! So we decided that it was time to find a replacement. As we looked on Amazon for what we might want to purchase, we came across this UME 49W Outdoor Motion Sensor LED Security Light with Dusk to Dawn feature. So we decided to order it to see if it was the replacement we were looking for. And I have to tell you, it is even better than we realized when we first placed that order. The thing that impressed us the most, right from the start, is how flexible the positioning is on the 3 separate lighting heads. Up, down, angled up, angled down, angled back, it seems like there are an infinite number of lighting configurations with this UME Outdoor Lighting fixture. And there are also lots of lighting and sensor setting options. The motion detection circuit can be set to low, medium, or high sensitivity. There's also a dusk to dawn setting. And the combination of the 180 degree motion sensor plus the ability to point it in almost endless directions and angles mean that you can get it set up for precisely the coverage and sensitivity to suit your needs. The light on time can be set in a similar fashion, with settings of 1, 3 and 10 minute intervals. And this 5000K LED lighting fixture is BRIGHT! Much more so than the old dual floodlight unit it is replacing. And yet, it uses a mere fraction of the electricity of an incandescent floodlight fixture. And last, but certainly by no means the least, it comes with all of the installation hardware that you need to get it installed almost effortlessly. Simply screw in the two screws for the mounting bracket into your existing light fixture junction box, connect the ground, hot, and neutral wires using the included wire nuts, then use one more screw to fasten the light fixture to the mounting bracket. A matching trim plug to cover that last screw is included. Be sure to double check all of your connections and confirm correct operation before installing that cover cap, just in case you have accidentally lost an electrical connection while fastening everything down. Bottom line, if you are in need of a good looking, energy efficient, outdoor LED motion detector light with Dusk to Dawn options, then you really should consider this UME 49W Outdoor Motion Sensor LED Security Light.
