Because of a recent injury, my mom needs a little extra help and clean herself up to get out of bed. I like that this isn’t as big as other devices I have seen. It gives her some storage for some items in the attached bag, but more importantly, it gives her the leverage she needs to help pull herself up. I had to install it on my own, which was a bit tough. I recommend having a second person available to help so you can secure it to the metal bedframe easier. I’m bringing her home later this week so we will be able to have her test it.

I have installed 3 different ones, the first had the best under mattress bar. Being about twice as long as the other two it doesn't move around, but it cost twice as much as the other two. The second one had the shortest under mattress bar but it did have screw holes and came with screws if you are using it with a platform bed where the mattress lays on a sheet of wood. This one the loop that goes under the mattress is a medium size, but does not have any holes or screws for mounting down on a piece of wood. They all game with a strap that goes around the bed frame or maybe the mattress to hold it in place when you put pressure on or pulling it. This one and the medium one came with a bag that hung form the side which really comes in handy. The medium one came with a bag that was divided into 3 pockets this one the bag is just one pocket. I like the 3 pocket style but I guess it depends on how large of an item you are putting into it. Handy either way. Strength wise, I put my 215 lbs on it. Pushing and Pulling and it has shown no bending or stress. So good job.

I have an upcoming spinal surgery, and it not being my first, I know what to expect. My biggest obstacle was simply getting up from a laying down position. So, I got to thinking, what did I do when I was in the hospital? Oh yeah, bed rails! I looked over several, but none of them had all of the features I wanted. This one looks to be just what I need! I really like the storage pocket and the light features. One thing--I like having the light, but would rather it be battery operated. It is going to be really inconvenient, especially if I can't get around well, to have to charge the light w/USB port. Annoying, but no biggie. I tried the rail out on my bed, and it seems to be really sturdy! I'm obviously not looking forward to a surgery, but am glad to have this bed rail to help me out.
