Should have believed the reviews I read about the opening for this hose. I purchased it to replace a drainage hose for a gray water system. I needed a 1&1/2 opening. WELL, this hose has an outside 1&1/2 opening but narrows down so it would not fit over my pipe. Because of the heat here in Phoenix, this project was not one I was anxious to attempt until it cooled off (a bit) as a consequence, I missed the return window and am stuck with a $70 useless pool hose. My fault? Sure. Should have done the job back in August when I bought it. Nonetheless I feel that advertising this as a 1&1/2 opening is misleading. Measure carefully and pay heed to reviews is my new motto. UPDATE Took a rattail file and using some elbow grease, managed to file down the inner lip so it would fit over the pipe. I'm glad I ordered this hose. I really needed like 40 feet but couldn't find one. This hose is a little too long but it works great. It has great suction power. I expect it to be great value for the money. Most local pool stores only carried a 30 foot hose but my pool is 16 x 32 so the hose in splits almost every year trying vacuum the end of the pool. Now I have more than enough hose. I can't rate durability until I've had it for a while. ... show more
