Previous hoses I bought had one connector with a larger outside shoulder so it could be inserted into the pool skimmer inlet. Photo 1 is my old hose that has one connector larger than the other. On this one, the shoulder connectors are the same size. On top of that the shoulder size is much smaller on this hose. In Photo 2 the diameter of the large shoulder on the old hose is just over 2-1/4". In Photo 3, the diameter of the connector on this hose is right at 2". When I inserted the connector into the skimmer inlet, the connector got sucked into the pipe. Fortunately, my skimmer inlet has an elbow at the connection to the base of the skimmer. This elbow prevented the hose from being sucked into the plumbing. Once I shut off the pump, getting the hose unstuck was a major headache. I was getting ready to cut the hose, but then jiggle the hose around for a while before it finally came undone. Wow, this could have been a lot worse. The hose seems of good quality, although it is very stiff. I laid mine out in the sun for about 20 minutes and that made it more pliable. The swivel end is helps an attachment from twisting the hose. If you use your skimmer port to connect your hose, I do not recommend this one. Before you turn on the pump, be sure the shoulder of the connector is larger that the pipe opening. ... show more
