If you think this looks good in the video, It looks even better in person. This is A+ quality accessory for your truck. Every single part is just well made, heavy duty, and looks great. The benefit is more than just an automated "transformer" effect. Since these supports are able to stow themselves they actually are MUCH lower in the low position that any other alternative. I installed this myself. My quotes were $900.00 and $1,000 for professional install before tax. Install is straight-forward but it takes time. It took me about 4 solid hours. Few lessons learned. (RAM 1500, 2023, Quad cab) 1. Install motors to the bracket in the bracket OPEN position. 2. Install the motor on the driver side AFTER you've installed the hardware to truck and attached power cable to motor. This is because the electrical connector fits precisely and cannot be inserted once the motor is attached to the bracket. 3. Get an actual crimper tool (borrow, buy) to secure electrical connections to the lights. Everything else will mess up the solderless connection. This is not a huge deal, but you will have to find another way to join the cables to the light kit. 4. On this truck there is no need to drill holes on the metal of the footwell of the driver side. But you do poke a hole in the rubber boot to run two thin wires.

Originally I wanted the Ram OEM power running boards but these are about 300 dollars cheaper and they support more weight. I watched a couple of YouTube videos and had all the knowledge needed to get the installation done. Install took me roughly 4 hours from start to finish. It would have took less time with some help. However, you can absolutely do this on your own. The materials that Amp Research uses are top notch and everything was plug and play. They work flawlessly and the LED puddle lights are an added bonus. Tuck away when you don’t need them and drop down when you do. I love them.

I installed this myself. All in, it took about 3 hours. All parts fit perfectly. I would recommend watching a couple of Youtube videos on installation before you start. The instructions are ok, but it really helps to see some of the process before crawling under your truck. No need to lift the truck, you should be able to install this on the ground by just sliding underneath the sides. You'll need a socket and wrench set, wire strippers/crimpers, some electrical tape, extra black tie wraps (to keep your wiring neat) a clean flathead screwdriver or trim tool to get the internal panel off. Also, if you plan to mount the step lights as in the instructions, you'll want some good metal piercing drill bits, 1/8" and 9/32". The pinch panels on your truck might be pretty hard to get through and you'll end up burning some lesser quality bits. Also be sure to get yourself some touch-up paint for the newly-drilled holes. The last thing you want is rust. The motors are smooth and quiet, and the fact that they tie directly into your door contols make them open and close like a factory install. When closed, they tuck away nicely, so you keep that modern truck look instead of the Grandpa's Running Boards profile. Overall, I'm really happy with them!

The media could not be loaded. I gave 5 stars because of how final installed product looks and superior functionality as step-assist into truck. I installed these Powersteps myself in my driveway using only tools listed within instructions and a creeper (lil sled on wheels). I did not lift truck to install. DISLIKES - MOTOR MOUNTS - AMP Research should ship these units with motors pre-installed onto moving arms. Although I used properly set torque wrench with careful movement, i easily cracked the the first plastic motor mount without click on torque wrench. Trust me, it will snap before you feel tension/tightness. I backed off screw and used epoxy on crack. - LED LIGHTS - Instructions require you to drill 4 new holes in area of the truck most susceptible to corrosion?? Although all the major mechanical and electrical components are plug and play, these 4 holes are used solely to route power wires for LED Lights. Lastly, these holes don’t even support the LED lights themselves as they are secured to truck by double sided tape??? I did NOT follow this part of the instruction (no drilled holes) but did mount the LED Lights under the Truck. The lights from the bottom of side view mirrors combined with my modified LED mount locations allow plenty of visibility of steps (see video and photo in review). LIKES - Steps go down really low so makes HUGE difference for family/friends getting into truck. - Steps tuck in really close to truck making clearance nearly same as no steps at all. - I researched OEM Power Steps and its like 3x $ so AMP Research is definitely best option - I bought these for $1250 free shipping/no tax - Install these yourself and save a few hundred bucks as i got quotes from some shops, just take your time. Definitely pick these up if you have a new 2019 RAM 1500 DT Crew Cab....

I was very satisfied with the product. It was easy to install, they work well and they seem to be of very good quality. I was disappointed that the instructions were not included as they said they would be, but they were easy to look up online. They arrive ahead of scheduled date. I would buy from them again.
