Description

Use this mount with Apple's MagSafe Charger as a charging stand for your vehicle, desk, or any other usage that you can imagine. The back of the mount has an industry-standard AMPS hole pattern that works with a multitude of mounting components. A T-Slot insert is also present, and when used with our T-Slot to AMPS Vertical Adapter Plate, allows you to quickly set and remove the mount from its mounting position without using screws. For a clean car installation without glue or holes, we suggest using a Brodit ProClip mounting platform specific to your vehicle together with an AMPS Tipper. After setting up the mount in position, drop your charger cable through the cable channel, then press-in your charger into the opening and you are good to go. What's in the box: 4 x 8mm M4 machine screws Notices: This mount is not appropriate for two-wheel vehicles, open-cockpits, or racing/off-roading. For these uses, we recommend using a mechanical attachment system. Apple's MagSafe Charger not included. Moved from a iPhone Xs to a 15 Pro, so wanted to use MagSafe to mount and charge in cars. The ProClip slide in wired mount had worked well but only held a lightning plug. I did have to drill out the corner holes on the Profit swivel plate but found the included screws were the perfect length and threaded holes aligned perfectly. The media could not be loaded. I purchased this Turing AMPS Mount to replace an old clamp-style phone holder that was installed in my truck on an AMPS-style bracket. The Turing mount is constructed of a quality plastic. Its appearance is fine on the front. It is not particularly attractive on the back (see photo), which is visible in my use case. The mount comes in a box with four machine screws and no instructions. The primary reason this mount only gets two stars is because the Apple MagSafe charger it is designed to hold does not stay in the mount. I can imagine that it would flop out on its own on a rough road. It most certainly gets pulled out every time a phone is removed from it. If I was forced to keep this product, I would use some kind of double-sided tape to hold the charger in place. (Nothing like this was supplied with the product.) The fact that this double-sided tape solution should work is why the product gets two stars instead of just one. The other potential issue for buyers is the threaded holes and the supplied machine screws. The AMPS bracket in my truck uses a smaller machine screw and recessed lock nuts to secure attachments to it. Though smaller, these machine screws do fit through the threaded holes on this mount. If they didn't, I would have had to drill them out. Just something to be aware of. The only other AMPS-compatible MagSafe mount I was able to find was the Scosche MEQMRAMPS MagicMount Qi2. This option includes an integrated charging coil in a design that is sleeker, easier to use when rotating the phone from vertical to horizontal, and which includes an innovative cable management system that eliminates any excess cable. It seems to hold my iPhone just as tight if not tighter than Apple's own MagSafe charger. After factoring in the cost of the Apple MagSafe charger with this Turing mount, the Scosche is a little less expensive. ... show more
