I only have it cycle with the pump 12 hours/day. We took our first swim of the season in Texas in mid-April which was the goal. Works great, the only issue is that I need to keep a tote under it to catch the condensation, there is an elbow to attach a hose but when I do that it leaks everywhere except through the hose. I just got my electric bill and was pleasantly surprised. Would recommend this for people like me who don't like the chilly water anymore. ... show more

    • Not worth the Trouble
Installed this Pool Heat Pump, come to find out that it was leaking all over the Place inside the unit, double checked all my Hose connections and they were tight and not leaking. The bigger issue, however, has been customer support. Every time I’ve reached out, I’m pushed into another round of troubleshooting steps that I have already completed multiple times. It feels like the process is being dragged out rather than resolved. I’ve made it clear that I’m seeking a refund or replacement, but instead of addressing that directly, I continue to be routed through repetitive troubleshooting requests. At this point, it’s hard not to feel like this is a delay tactic that risks pushing customers beyond the warranty window. I’ve been patient and cooperative, but there needs to be a point where the company stands behind its product instead of continuing to deflect with troubleshooting scripts. If you’re considering this unit, just be aware: if something goes wrong, you may spend more time going back and forth with support than actually enjoying your pool. ... show more

    • Leaks everywhere even with drain port
It heats but leaks everywhere from condensation even with the drain line attached (Had to buy hose separately). Since I bought this on sale during the winter I was not able to get it hooked up during the 30 days return window or I would’ve just returned it. The only solution was to silicone all of the bolt holes on the bottom drip pan to create my own seal, something that could’ve easily been done at the factory. Kinda silly to have a dedicated drain port when it leaks from multiple points on the bottom pan straight outta the box. It works but not without leaving huge puddles and modifications to remedy it. ... show more

This is a review of the 18K BTU, 6K gallons unit specifically. Unit came well packaged. As others mentioned, the outer box left one concerned, but the nested protection kept the unit in perfect condition. PROS = compact and quite quiet. Straightforward to hook up. CONS = GFCI should be down the cord and not at the plug, makes it impossible to place within an in-use weather cover. Also, the drain port is larger than the feet, so if placing on a hard surface, you must elevate it /shim it (in gravel it'll just push down into the gravel bed). Also, the unit's highest temp for cooling is 82F. It would be better if one could select values up to 88F or 90F. We would have chosen 84F or 86F if permitted. Instructions leave one lacking and some specs are incorrect. The fittings supplied are not 1-1/4" nor are they 1-1/2". They do not fit any normal piping dimension and are intended only for thin-walled, low pressure, temporary hoses. HOWEVER, the blue fittings on the unit itself are actually 1" MPT, so a 1" PVC FPT (female theaded) fitting fits perfectly. This means that you're piping into this unit using 1" PVC and fittings, not larger. Additionally, this means you can buy an in-line flow gauge in order to properly dial shut off and bypass valves in order to not exceed the very low 8.8gpm flow rate the unit requires. Very unhappy with this one. Why sell something that doesn’t work. Went to all of the trouble of hooking it up and even on the heat setting it only cools the water. We waited 24 hours and it still only puts out cold water. Did not leak. Was quiet. Only out out cold air too
