I needed to print something in pink so I chose a low cost filament and I really didn’t think it would print as well as it did. It adheres to the build plate well and I didn’t get any bubbles or clogging issues. My print came out clean and I will definitely be printing more with this filament.

I've had very good luck with TTYT3D silk filament in the past, but this spool is a weird one. The cardboard isn't cut correctly at all and doesn't sit on the printer spool holder well. My printer (Prusa Mk3) is still able to feed it, however. I haven't had any print failures so I'm only knocking off one star. I've found that 2-color and 3-color coextrusion filaments work great with surface fill patterns like octogram spiral, as seen in the attached photos. The silk blue/white is perfect for the snowflake decorations I'm making. (Also looks great when mixed with silk white ones.) The effect is a bit more subtle than other coextrusion filaments but that's what I was going for in this case.

The print in the picture came out great. The one that came after this one didn't do as well. Some layer shifting went on. I will probably buy a couple more rolls and try again on one of the other printers.

I own multiple 3D printers and do a lot of printing with filament of all different types and materials. When it comes to PLA, I've seen the differences you get in print quality between a cheap roll and an expensive roll of filament. This is not my first time using TTYT3D brand filament. I've actually purchased some basic colors in the past, and have been happy with it. This is however my first time using this dual color type of filament from them, and I'm super impressed with the results. At $25.99/roll this is on the high side of what I'm generally willing to spend on filament. There are a lot of really good options out there that are less than $20/roll so I usually go to them for basic everyday prints. However, this filament is unique in that the actual strand of filament is split down the middle with a different color on either side. That's different than most "dual color" filaments I've used in the past where the color of the roll gradually changes from one color to another but the strand itself stays fairly the same through the different layers. The split-down-the-middle color variation of this TTYT3D filament produces a really cool effect. Without just being shiny and looking different from certain angles, you do get a definite color change when viewing the completed parts from different sides and angles. The whole part can look solid purple from the top but from the bottom, the same side can look dark purple or black. It's a really cool way to add some variety to common prints and I've been really happy with how the results look. I'm excited to try other color combinations of this stuff. The filament itself prints great with all of the same qualities I expect. It adheres well to the bed, has good layer adhesion and I haven't had any issues with snags on the spool or clogged nozzles yet. It arrived packaged well in an air tight vacuum bag, although at this price point, I would have preferred to see a resealable bag, but that's not a huge deal. I do appreciate that they included samples of some of their other filaments to try. Overall I'm very happy with this dual color filament and the awesome look of the completed parts and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a high quality filament with some variety.
