  • Great investment.
I’ve been wanting a thermal camera for a while and finally I got it. Honestly, I'm really impressed. The accuracy is spot on, which makes finding hidden issues during home inspections way easier than I expected. I know it’s an investment, but it’s basically already paid for itself just by catching things I wouldn't have found otherwise. Really happy I picked it up!" ... show more

  • Fantastic thermal imager for inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics
I have 5 thermal camera for my work. For under $400 units, this is the best one I have. What you need to know to compare this unit to others. The frame rate is 24fps, thats good, high end Flir cameras are limited to just 9FPS due to some US law. So it has a great frame rate, higher than domestically made units. Next is the native resolution. This is 256x192, which is good. Most other units in the $100-$300 have 192x128, 350x256 is when the units start getting over $1000, so 256x192 is very good. Last thing to compare is the sensitivity, this is a <40 mk, which is good (lower is better) most units in the $100-$250 are <50 mk and not as sensitive, the lower the MK the more detail you get in the video, where you dont even need things like hybrid mode or edge detection. I also have their lower tier model the TT17D, It's also a good model but that unit is a lower resolution and its <50 mk. Yes you can notice a difference between the two. The TT17D will work fine if you dont use it often or if you don't need it for anything super important. From some angles side by side, you cant really tell the difference but then if you look form other angles you'll see more temps show up in the image. I can see water pipes behind walls in the TT27D but not with the TT17D, but I can see beams and studs behind walls in both units. I included 1 photo of my dog taken with the TT17D and 1 with the TT27D, you can see more detail with this unit for sure. Other pic are of my water pipe, outdoor of my house, and I love looking at clouds with this thing, super fun. This compact thermal camera is excellent and much more capable than I expected for its size. The image quality is very impressive, especially with the UIRA-IR enhanced thermal resolution and visual fusion modes. It makes it much easier to identify temperature differences, hot spots, leaks, insulation gaps, electrical issues, HVAC problems, and other hidden trouble areas. The 3.5-inch touchscreen is clear and easy to use, and I really like having multiple viewing modes instead of being limited to a basic thermal-only image. The fusion view is especially useful because it helps connect the heat pattern to the real object you are looking at, which makes inspections faster and more accurate. The 25Hz frame rate feels smooth, and the camera is compact enough to carry around without being bulky. It is great for checking electrical panels, outlets, motors, appliances, plumbing areas, roof or wall temperature differences, vehicle diagnostics, moisture-related issues, and general home or shop troubleshooting. I also like the extra features like Wi-Fi transfer to the app, image storage, AI scene detection, alarms, and the built-in light. It feels like a serious diagnostic tool in a portable format. Overall, this is a fantastic thermal camera. It is sharp, fast, easy to use, feature-rich, and extremely useful for anyone doing inspections, repairs, HVAC, electrical work, automotive troubleshooting, or general maintenance. Pros: Excellent thermal image detail UIRA-IR enhanced resolution Visual fusion mode is very useful Smooth 25Hz frame rate Clear 3.5-inch touchscreen Compact and easy to carry Helpful for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and home inspections Good for automotive and equipment diagnostics Wi-Fi app transfer AI scene detection and alarm features Built-in light for dark areas Great professional-style tool in a portable size ... show more

  • Spotty Insulation Identified
The AccuMems TT27D thermal camera delivers on a number of fronts. First, it is very easy to use. It comes with enough charge to start using out of the box, and it is quite intuitive. You just turn it on, and it immediately starts giving thermal readings. The menu is slimmed down, and simple to get through. The various viewing modes are a huge help, especially the thermal and visual fusion option. What this thermal camera identified for me was that I had spotty insulation with some rather unusual hot spots identified in the most random of places in our bedroom ceilings. Considering that there is an attic space above these ceilings, the sporadic hot spots are not a good sign. Knowledge is power, and this thermal camera allows you collect a good bit of data. I will admit that it is fun to use, it has a good sized viewing screen, and I appreciate its rather convenient carrying case. While I am presently using this to identify places where heat is seeping in (and where heat will seep out in the winter), I appreciate that it has tools to help identify moisture spots as well. The variety of applications make this a versatile tool, with a variety of helpful uses. I will say that the camera function seemed to work sporadically, though user error is quite possibly the cause. I was able to get it to start recording video before I could take a picture, and then later on, it started taking pictures without any issues. But at first, I would snap the picture button, and nothing would happen. After I restarted the camera, the problem went away, but I will keep my eye on it. As I said, I have not ruled out user error, as I was tinkering with the menu options prior to testing the photograph function, so I do not wish to be too harsh in my judgement here. In short, this is a useful tool, which gives accurate thermal readings, and displays them in incredibly clear ways. It is worth having to inspect issues like heat loss, or heat seepage. Identifying the cause accurately is an important and essential part of getting the problem fixed. This model delivers a great user experience, accurate readings, and is worth the higher premium cost in my opinion. All around, I would recommend. ... show more

  • Versatile camera with Incredible performance
This thing is insane! Never thought how much use I could actually get from it, but it’s one hell of a piece of tech. Basically allows me to access my predator sense lol.. It’s extremely well built and versatile. Allowing me to quickly access a wide variety of display modes and settings to source things throughout the house or parameter. I can view short circuits as well as circuitry shortages in tech devices, find leaky pipes, cold drafts in windows/ crevices… or heck, even try to find where my cat is hiding since it picks up heat or general paw prints. It’s amazing in every sense and easy to use/ setup right out of the box. Love how it fits perfectly in my pocket or bag, making it easy to travel with. Battery seems to last a long time too as I’ve only ever had to charge it once within a month’s timeframe. Connection to PC is seamless and easy to access all essential files. Allowing me to take snapshots of things I find interesting or to properly spot and view technical information I find, which I can share with others or professionals to analyze. From the intricate settings, detailed viewing modes to the compact design and sleek interface, this thermal camera is incredibly versatile and handy to have. It’s a bit steep in price, but it certainly makes up for it with how practical it can be for a wide variety of indoor/ outdoor applications. Do ourself a favor and get you one of these! You won’t be disappointed ;) ... show more

  • Useful with Caveats
I recently used this thermal imaging camera for several home inspection and diagnostic tasks, and it proved a practical tool for my work. Upon removing it from its protective carrying case, I appreciated its compact size, similar to a smartphone, which slipped easily into my pocket for transport between job sites. Its solid construction inspired confidence for field use, with good environmental protection, a built-in tripod mount, and an LED light useful in dimly lit areas. The 3.5-inch touchscreen interface felt intuitive, resembling phone controls for quick navigation. Switching modes was smooth, and I moved through settings without delay. The 25Hz refresh rate provided fluid live imaging when scanning rooms or tracking moving targets, a noticeable improvement over many other units I have tried. One standout feature was the fusion blended mode, which overlaid thermal data onto visible details with adjustable percentages (25, 50, or 75 percent) and edge detection. This made it easier to pinpoint issues such as insulation gaps, electrical hotspots, or moisture problems. The device displayed max, min, and center temperatures on screen simultaneously, and I set customizable alarms for abnormal readings, which helped during HVAC and electrical checks. Nine color palettes offered flexibility for different environments, and the 640 by 480 upscaled resolution provided clear enough image quality for residential and professional diagnostic work. AI-assisted presets automatically optimized the camera for common tasks like electrical inspections, moisture detection, or insulation evaluation, reducing manual adjustments. Wi-Fi and app connectivity allowed wireless transfer of images and videos for further analysis, adding convenience to my workflow. That said, I noticed limitations during extended use. The resolution is upscaled rather than native, so while it provided good detail, it did not match the sharpness of higher-end sensors. The shutter button was positioned where my right-handed grip naturally rested, leading to accidental photos I had to delete. Temperature readings appeared in a fixed corner of the screen instead of at the measurement point, requiring extra gaze shifts. The screen size worked for on-device review but felt small for fine details without transferring to a computer. Removing the device from its fitted pocket in the case sometimes took extra effort, slowing quick access. Without optical zoom, I had to move closer physically for detailed views. Some icons and advanced features had a modest learning curve, especially in the app, so I initially consulted the manual. Overall, the camera performed well for diagnostics and guidance but lacked lab-grade precision for highly scientific measurements. In the end, this thermal camera offered strong versatility and value for residential and professional tasks at a competitive price. Its portability, responsive performance, and practical features made it a worthwhile addition to my toolkit despite the drawbacks. ... show more

  • Great pocket-sized thermal imaging camera.
This is another winner from AccuMEMS. I've tested several tiers and styles of their thermal imagine cameras, and they've all been great. This is one of the higher-resolution models, and it's well worth the extra cost with how much it can save you finding drafts and water issues to be addressed. It's very easy to use, especially when you get used to the settings. It's just like operating a normal camera. No need to hook it to your phone via an app. No bulky gun-style. This could fit in your pocket easily. The battery life seems good so far. I took it on a pretty thorough tour of the house getting pics of windows, doors, and even pets just to test it. And it lasted fine through that. Very versatile because of how easily you can take it with you. Use it on jobs, bring it to family members' homes to help them find drafts... it's portable, durable, and a great all-around thermal imager. ... show more

  • Quality Thermal Camera with Sophisticated Features
This is the second thermal imaging camera I’ve owned from AccuMEMS, and I’ve been impressed with the quality of both. This model is a step up from my first one, with more advanced features and capabilities. It is also very easy to store and carry. The thermal image is clear, and it does a highly accurate job of showing temperature differences. The battery lasts a significant amount of time between charges, which is nice for multiple jobs. I also like the added features on this model, including Wi-Fi connectivity and AI scene detection, which give it more functionality and make it more convenient to use. The controls are straightforward, and the camera is easy to work with. The additional features don’t complicate basic use. Overall, I’m very happy I upgraded to the TT27D. My first AccuMEMS thermal camera has been a good basic unit, while this one offers considerably more features and capabilities. It’s a well made tool and a nice step up. ... show more
