  • Easy to use, good quality, affordable
It works very well, easy to use. Comes with a bag and USB-C cable. The quality of the pictures are good, but the resolution is not high. Affordable and do the job.

  • Dead on Arrival / Replaced by Company
Updated Review: The company reached out to us and replaced the unit via Amazon (not hand picked) despite the fact that we already returned the camera. The new camera works fantastic and has been excellent at finding thermal leaks in our house when the temperature is substantially different outside (i.e. hot summer). The distinguishing power of the sensors doesn't seem to be enough for small thermal differences, but it is enough for a homeowner. At the original $160 (2024) price, the camera is a great value and an excellent alternative to to a single point IR sensor (the cheap thermal guns at the big box stores). The only downside is the device takes a few seconds every time it calibrates, which is maybe once a minute. The device is more responsive as long as the battery is charged. Original Review: Thermal imaging camera arrived with no charge and missing screen protection peel. After several hours on the charger, the battery would not gain any charge despite the solid red charing light. I was able to briefly operate the camera via an external battery, but the interface was slow and occasionally the camera would lag out for a few seconds. Currently significantly cheaper than FLIR or other alternatives with coupon, but quality control is too poor to recommend. Manufacturer/brand is only two months old, Amazon exclusive, and appears to be from Vietnam/China - not USA based like adverts suggested. ... show more

  • The HSFTOOLS HP96 Thermal Imaging Camera is a game-changer
The HSFTOOLS HP96 Thermal Imaging Camera is a game-changer! I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I'm consistently impressed with its performance and ease of use. The Live Super Resolution feature makes a huge difference in image clarity, and the dual cameras provide excellent detail and contrast. The touchscreen interface is intuitive and responsive, and the built-in video and audio recording are incredibly useful. I've used the HP96 for everything from home inspections to DIY projects, and it's always delivered accurate temperature readings and helped me identify potential problems quickly. The temperature alarm feature is a lifesaver, and the ability to switch between image modes and color palettes is a great bonus. The HP96 is a fantastic value for the price, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-use thermal imaging camera. ... show more

  • Already paid for itself
We have tried several times to get rid of a few notable drafts/cold air leaks in our home. We’ve tried expanding foam every pipe protrusion and joint we could find but still felt a cold breeze when the wind was strong. In about 10 seconds with this camera it confirmed the area we feel drafts was colder than the surrounding room — and more specifically found a small 1/8” screw hole (coloring it blue in the photo instead of the surrounding orange) where a screw had been removed from inside an access panel which was the entry point of the draft. In another part of the house we had some roof work done previously. When we looked at the ceiling of the room we could see each of the rafters behind the drywall due to the slightly different thermal differences. But we also noticed a cold stripe in the ceiling - at the exact place the repair was done! This identified the roofer didn’t correctly replace/butt together the insulation after they momentarily pulled it aside. The same area in the attic confirmed that area was warmer than the adjacent bays. A few minutes of rearranging the insulation, followed by a break to let the ceiling temperatures readjust to the new insulation location confirmed the thermal leak was fixed. There are plenty more examples of where this has saved us time or money - we found a leaky heat duct which was dumping warm air into a crawl space, we’re able to run low voltage and network cable into a ceiling without wondering where rafters were located (or spending several minutes with a stud finder), etc. Even with all the great things, this camera isn’t perfect. The resolution is barely adequate - but it’s good enough to get you close enough for large surfaces like walls or outlets. The interface isn’t great - it takes a while to figure out and the need to swipe up from the edge to turn on the light wasn’t expected. It’s also a bit quirky - it’s easy to accidentally power it off or record a video when trying to simply turn on/off the screen. The temperatures aren’t overly accurate, but this might also because the camera requires you tell it how far away the surface is located (which we haven’t done). But even still the temperatures seem to be reasonable, even if not accurate. ... show more
