Fantastic U-Dot Sights

I am very impressed with these, especially given the price difference from Trijicon or AmeriGlo. That isn't to say that there's anything wrong with those, but I can't tell a difference whatsoever in fit/finish, brightness of the fiber optic or machining quality. The tritium lamps likely come from the same place as the other brands anyway, so I wouldn't expect a big lifespan difference or anything like that. The contrast between the orange fiber front and the tritium dots is fantastic in less than ideal lighting. Some don't prefer the U-dot arrangement, and I feel like I would prefer the standard square style myself, but I have had no issues with accuracy or sighting quickly with these; just takes a little practice to get used to. If you've never installed pistol sights you may have a little difficulty, but as long as you get the right tools and take your time they'll come out fine. Glock front sights need a special driver, I can't recall if these came with one but they're very cheap if not. It's recommended to use blue Loc-Tite on the sight itself as you press it in, as well as the screw threads to help ensure they won't come loose on you; a FAT Wrench or similar helps for consistency but isn't necessary. The rear sight needs to be tapped in, so a sight pusher tool or a gunsmith's hammer and nylon punch will prevent any marring of the sight. I managed to squeak by with a light desktop hammer and putting a few layers of painter's tape on the sight before striking it with a 3/8" steel punch. You should also rub some Loc-Tite in the dovetail the sight slides into, just a little bit with a toothpick, and the small set screw that holds the sight in place. I don't believe this screw is particularly easy to strip out, but it is very tiny so don't go Lord Overtorque on it. I went mega OCD mode and used my caliper's step measurer to get the sight centered within .05mm or so between both edges. BETTER IS THE ENEMY OF GOOD ENOUGH! You'll likely never notice if its half a mm out of center unless you shoot 100yd bullseye with your pistol. Tl;dr If these are $20+ cheaper than the competition and you don't hate U-dot style sights, you won't be disappointed. ... show more

These were very easy to install with a nylon punch and hammer, was able to do it without even putting the slide in a vice. The sights are nice and low profile and compact unlike some others on the market, which is what i was after. They are very easy to see in the dark and dont seem to require any light at all to get them glowing, i'm interested to see how long the effect will last. They are also easy to see in daylight and seem as accurate or better than stock glock sights to use. They are robust and seem very solid and high quality, I also like the feature that allows you to rack the slide with one hand using the rear sight. Would definitely recommend these. ... show more

Great sights, great price

Have seen several reviews stating that these sights are "of poor quality" or made from "soft metal". In my experience, they are of high quality and made from hard "metal". Someone even complained that he needed to buy a sight pusher to install his sights. Yes, you should have a quality sight pusher to install these, and any other night sight! Like a lot of tritium sights, you are not supposed to "hammer" these in! I have installed 5 sets of these sights in several of my guns. Some of them take more filing and sanding than others, but their low price makes it all worth it. I rather have a sight that I have to spend some time "fitting" than a sight that is too loose. If you are only going to buy/install these (or any other sight) on only one gun, then maybe it is not worth having to buy a sight pusher. Otherwise, go ahead and get the pusher. It is a tool that will last a lifetime, and you will save in the long run by avoiding gunsmithing charges. Besides, isn't it fun to work on your firearms? So far they are all working fine, none of them have failed in any way, and are as bright as the day I installed them (my oldest is about 5 years old). I bought these sights for my Pop’s. He’s 60 years old and been carrying the same Glock 22 3 Gen for 18 years. Anyways his eyes were having a problem finding the sites in low lighting and at fast draw. Well with these new Tru Glo TG231G1W Tritium Pro Sights, in. Complete darkness it’s like your holding a flashlight to your sight. These sights are amazing! Not only can he see better during the day but at night is when the real magic happens. He has no problems finding and tracking his new Tru Glo sights it’s amazing at how bright they are. In fact I’m jealous and I’m about to order a set for my FH.40C if you are having problems lining up your sights day or night. Tru Glo Tritium sights are the only thing you need. I had a green laser mounted to both these handguns, the Tru Glo beat the laser 100% everytime. If you are having trouble seeing your sights Tru Glo is the obvious choice. Thank you Tru Glo for giving my pops his eyes back on the sights on a 20 year old gun and he’s been CCL that gun 18 years. Trust your life to your handgun, trust what you hit to Tru Glo. Works, but just aren't bright enough for me.

Installed on a G19 Gen 6. Appears to be well made. Easy installation using the right tool. But if you want bright tritium inserts you may be disappointed. Or, maybe the inserts just are not large enough. Either way, they are not as large/bright as the NS on other pistols I have that include Sig, FN, and PSA Dagger. ... show more

My initial impression is Oh, Wow! I can compare these sights to Ameriglo Trooper and Meprolight Hyper-Bright. Can’t say anything bad about the aforementioned sights, but in my experience , Truglo Pro sights look more robust, easier to pickup in a daylight and a little brighter in low/ no light conditions. The slanted rear sight is definitely a plus and could become a huge advantage in certain situations. The manufacturer provides a 12 year limited warranty. I guess, will see about it. The engineering tolerance is closer to the upper deviation. I had to use a rubber mullet to sit the front sight into the place. Never had to do this before for any other sights. I used the pusher for the rear sight and it was going in but I could tell the resistance was a little more than usual. Regardless, this is a 5 star product. Highly recommend it. ... show more
