Starts up on the second crank. Does an excellent job. Several people have complained about the blade not spinning. They fail to understand that it works on a clutch. You have to rev it up to activate the blade clutch. That's a safety feature. And it's really lightweight. Love it!

The edger was a good price for a walk behind gas powered edger. It’s was easily assembled with just the handles and 4 spin bolts to twist. It started right up and is very well balanced.

I’ve never been real happy with this edger. Has always had problems while idling. Constantly having to reassert the motor. Also, not easy to start! I use ethanol free gas in all my outdoor garden tools as well as my Jeep Wrangler so fuel should not be a problem. I purchased this enter in September of 2022 so it’s less than two years old and has trimmed approximately 450 to 500 feet of driveway and sidewalk. The problem is of course the carburetor. How do know? I have owned approximately thirty gas powered yard tools in the last 40 years and they almost always have carburetor failure. However, this is one of several tools I have that have 4 cycle engines so there is no fuel mixing involved. I used this trimmer three weeks ago and it did the job but today it simply gave out and will not restart! As stated above, these things are made in China and are not built to very good standard of quality. I would not recommend this edger. ... show more

This is an okay edger. Great product for the price. My husband likes it ok. We have a large corner lot so we have a big area to edge. We probably should have splurged on a bigger one but we decided to try this one. It is fine for me but as I said, husband not thrilled. If you don't have a huge yard, it works great! The site changed my order to, two units. I ended up buying two. (I know, it sounds stupid, but with the order of several items, I missed that qty went to 2.) Both arrived but when I tried to send one back, the seller refuses to accept a return. Now, stuck with two. I'ts a good little edger. I got this Edger and the very first time I used this it started smoking. I contacted Amazon and they told me they couldn't help me and I had to contact the seller. The seller had me go to a local place to have it fixed. The place that fixed it charged me to fix it. I reached out to the seller again and they would not help me. Then they decided they were done talking to me and then just hung up on me. I will never by from TROYBELT ever again. They used to be a name you could trust but not anymore.
