I was initially interested in this for use with my Husqvarna 128CD. I usually edge and trim two properties, and I was tired of eating up string to edge the curb and walkways. The shipping was quick and everything showed up in one piece, with no signs of damage. Installation was super easy. All you have to do is remove your existing attachment and push this one into its place. To remove your old attachment, just loosen the knob located halfway down the shaft, push the little silver button, and pull. To install the new one, just perform these steps in reverse. The attachment came pre greased and ready to go. I’ve used this several times and have had absolutely no issues. This cut my edging time in half and there is no need to change string. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone with a weed eater that is capable of accepting attachments. This was a fraction of the cost of the factory attachment and works great. ... show more

Do your homework on powerhead compatibility - there are a lot of attachment systems out there, and this edger wasn't compatible with my HyperTough trimmer. Because "Buyer pays return shipping" made this essentially non-returnable, I ended up buying an attachment-capable Troy-Built gas trimmer with a compatible coupler. Once I was able to put the edger to work, it performed better than my B&D plugin electric trimmer, and made quick work of my first-of-the-season spring edging on a large corner lot. Wet grass and dirt do pack up the edger's guard, but I've yet to find an edger that is immune to that. Would recommend the product. Will see how well the included blade holds up. ... show more

This is awesome. I didn't want to spend $300 on a gas edger when I already have a good Cub Cadet string trimmer. This edger snaps right in to the shaft of my trimmer and it really does a nice job edging. I let my neighbor borrow it, who has a Ryobi trimmer and he immediately ordered this from Amazon. A few things I'll mention is when you first edge (as with any edger) you'll want to knock the grass back off the concrete as much as possible. I used a spade shovel in the bad areas and then took my string trimmer to knock back as much as I could. Then the edger can get next to the concrete as designed. It does tend to pull you along and you'll need to hold it firmly. It also uses a lot of my gas because it takes a lot of juice to cut through the dirt. All in all I highly recommend this edger for anyone that has a compatible tool. ... show more

    • Critical design flaw.

This edger attached to my weed eater without any problems, and for a short time worked extremely well. After a few usages however, a design flaw reared its ugly head. The blade is driven by a rotating spring within the handle/arm attachment. The arm attachment meets the edger head, and is screwed into place by ONE screw. This one screw (on the parts guide listed as the anti-rotation screw) keeps the entire head of the edger from spinning on the same plane as a weed eater. Basically, the screw allows the spring's rotation to be converted to vertical motion; thus keeping the entire edger head from spinning in circles on a horizontal plane. (think weed eater string, but the entire edger spinning on the same plane). I tell you all this as the anti rotation screw fails easily. I purchased an edger, used it 3 times, and the screw failed. This allowed the blade to suddenly spin on a horizontal axis, shattering the guard and guide wheel. Terrifying. So thinking it was operator error, I ordered replacement parts and repaired the trimmer. After repair, the edger lasted ten minutes before the same failure occurred. So I gave up, assumed I got a lemon, and ordered another unit. On the first use, the anti rotation screw fell out (luckily I saw it and stopped the machine). The screw was stripped out clean again. The force produced by the average weed eater makes 1 screw to prevent rotation a very poor and dangerous design. I would not recommend this product at all, and would encourage those who are serious about edging to purchase a dedicated edger. ... show more
