There was a reason that the instructors had us shoot without lights during our night time training in a defensive handgun class. In the case that lights fail, you would know how blind you are shooting. Those with night sights were able to hit and those without are just throwing lead down range. There is no visibility even in the ambient night light no matter how much you tilt the gun trying to play with visibility. I knew that I had to upgrade soon and after looking at other makers, Trijicon is the way to go since it's tried and true. I've seen another brand that has hollow rear sights and also started to lose brightness. These are supposed to last for 12 years so I think the price is worth it. The front sight is not too thick so it's easier to see the target and you can charge it up with flashlight so that the front is brighter, but it still gets washed out when looking into heavy backlight situations. ... show more

The best irons for Glock. Yes, Ameriglo come close but the HD and HD XR are a step up. The rear sight is especially prominent and great for single handed racking. Yes they're expensive, but they are 100% reliable and you've been getting rusty ever since you started using a red dot. The only issue I've found is that the included front sight screw is a bit short and backs out over time (even with Loctite) so I use a slightly longer one. ... show more

Installed these on my gen 3 Glock 19. I do not own a sight pusher tool, but I do own a bench vice, a punch set, a hammer, and plenty of beer. Took much more effort than I thought it would to set the rear sight, but I eventually hammered it in solid. The sight picture is easy to line up in lighted conditions, and the tritium lamps are plenty bright for low/no light shooting. My only small gripe on these is that the edges are kinda sharp. If you’re carrying your weapon concealed in waistband, these can really dig into you if you bend at an odd angle. Other than that, they’re terrific. I’d buy them again. ... show more

I’ve been usin these sights on my nephew’s Glock 17 for about a year now. I figured I best just get my own Glock 17 and give him back his. I did so reluctantly, and purchased these HD XR sights with the yellow front outline to mirror his setup on my own Glock 17. It really is amazin how well the thin front post with the yellow front outline enables a larger field of view and a much faster identification and engagement. Just installed these on a Gen 2 G27 .40 cal. I'm our departments armorer so I had the pusher tool. Be aware if you have old factory sights that are dim or dead(like mine) on an older glock you may have trouble removing them. I twisted mine off with heavy pliers (just on the front sight) and it broke free. The original factory night sights were pressed on quite well and there's no way to remove them with essentially breaking the sight. Fortunately they were dead and I had no use for them. These seem nice once in stalled. This latest version (the HD XR) has a thinner front post allowing for more fine tuning of your sight picture. I like it so far and fall qualifications will be the real test. I went with yellow just because, for me, my eye picks it up a little easier than red/orange of the other set. I'm sure this set will take me well into retirement 6 years from now. Trijicons are the gold standard of night sights. My last set was bright for a good 13 years. ... show more

Very nice quality product, glows bright in the dark and has definitely made it easier to put the sights on the target over the stock Glock sights. I am very pleased with the look, feel, fit, and function of these sights. The only disappointment i had was during unboxing. I opened the big box to find my little Trijicon package in there with out anything to keep it from bouncing around. So overall, the product is great, packaging really lacked effort! ... show more

I read a lot of the reviews on these and was skeptical but decided to get them anyway. They seem like decent sights, the tridium is not as bright as night sights that come standard on some sigs. The rear sight was fine but the front sight does not sit completely properly. These might be knock offs or factory rejects from trijicon but overall they will work. Haven't had the chance to put down any rounds with the sights. ... show more
