Description

What is the difference between "Tri-Ply Clad" and "Tri-Ply Base"? Tri-ply clad cookware has an aluminum core throughout the enture pan, while tri-ply base cookware only has a layered bottom. Fully clad construction provides more even heat distrobution and better overall cooking performance. How do I prevent food from sticking to stainless steel? Use the "Water Test": preheat on medium until a drop of water beads and "dances" like mercury. Because Tri-Ply Clad distributes heat so efficiently, you rarely need "High" heat—Medium or Medium-Low is usually sufficient for most cooking tasks. Can I use this cookware on all stovetops, including induction? Yes. The magnetic stainless steel exterior make this cookware compatible with all cooktops, including gas, electric, glass, and induction. Also oven-safe up to 500°F (260°C) to easily sear proteins on the stove and finish to perfection in the oven. Is it dishwasher safe? Yes, though hand washing helps maintain its polished finish over time. Is it oven-safe and durable for long-term use? Yes. Built for lasting performance, this cookware is oven-safe and designed to resist warping, chipping, and corrosion, making it a dependable choice for everyday use. • Very happy with this purchase!
Size: 12-Piece
I bought a set of these pans a couple of years ago. We are very pleased with them! They cook very evenly, and are as easy to clean as you can hope for with non-nonstick pans. Food doesn't tend to stick on, but when it does, a plastic scraper and a plastic scouring pad is usually all I need. I use Bar Keepers Friend to do final cleaning and remove stains, if necessary. Do they look like the day I took them out of the box? No: they look like they have been used. Do I care? No: they are tools. The variety of sizes in the set I bought are have just about every need covered. I especially appreciate having the Saute pan when I need something like that. One hint; use slightly lower heat on the stove than you would for nonstick or stainless pans. Because they are a clad construction, they retain heat better than ordinary pans. So set the temp somewhere between what you would use for cast iron and a steal pan. Also, give the frying pans a little longer to heat up before you start frying or sauteing in them (not as long as cast iron, though!) I can't tell you how these pans compare to All-Clad or Made In, but I can tell you that they cost a lot less and that they do a good job. I recommend this product! ... show more

  • 10/10 would buy again
Size: 12-Piece
I paid $280 for the 12 piece, made in Brazil set. 5 months after purchase. Pros: Heavy (but not too heavy) Excellent finish on all, no scuffs or markings Solid construction (no bad rivets yet) Variety of sizes Cons: I'm getting nitpicky about keeping them polished They're not fully clad The top edges aren't fully clad, which may EVENTUALLY be a wear point - I haven't noticed anything negative yet there though. I don't run them through the dishwasher for this reason alone. That being said, you won't find true 3 or 5 ply fully clad pans for even twice this price. They arrived with a mirror finish, and they for the most part still have that though are starting to show signs of use. One could probably fully polish and restore them if they wanted - to me they're nice pots and pans that I want to use, not hang on a wall to collect dust. They behave like stainless, and should be used as such - don't expect nonstick or cast iron qualities from a completely different material. Preheat the pan dry, add your pan lube and let it come back up to temp before cooking. You can get a decent sear on a steak at medium high heat if preheated. My eggs slip and slide around the preheated pan with a little butter at medium/medium low. Any fats dribbled down the outside of the pan and not immediately cleaned WILL polymerize and discolor the outside. This doesn't affect cooking once achieved, and can be removed the same as removing the "seasoning" from a cast iron. I wouldn't recommend metal utensils if you want to maintain a scratch-free finish, but it's stainless steel - you'd have to really go at it to cause scratches deep enough to affect cooking. a little clattering with a spoon when basting a steak won't hurt them any. For cleaning, boil any seriously stuck on crust and scrape with a hard plastic scraper when cooled enough to do so. repeat as needed, finish with your typical scrubber. Do not shock a hot empty pan with cold water, no matter the material type, ever. Wouldn't recommend the dishwasher on the regular, but I imagine a little automated action here and there won't hurt longevity much. Barkeeper's Friend is your best friend for getting the shine and polish back. I expect this set will last me another 10 years. ... show more

  • Outstanding quality for the everyday family kitchen
Size: 12-Piece
We've been using this cookware set for a while now and it has completely exceeded our expectations. The Tramontina Signature Tri-Ply Clad construction is immediately noticeable — the pots and pans heat evenly, hold temperature well, and feel solid and well-built in every way. What really stands out is how thoughtfully curated the 12-piece set is. It covers everything a family kitchen needs on a daily basis: from sautéing vegetables and simmering sauces to boiling pasta or making a slow braise on weekends. For a household that genuinely loves to cook, the variety of pieces means we're always reaching for exactly what we need. The stainless steel finish is easy to maintain and still looks great after regular use. The handles are comfortable and stay cool on the stovetop, which is a detail you really appreciate over time. If you're looking for a cookware set that combines durability, versatility, and great performance — and you want something that will grow with your family's cooking adventures — this is absolutely worth the investment. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Excellent cookware
Size: 12-Piece
I love the heft of these, heavy enough to cook evenly on my new radiant glass cooktop. I followed the directions on how to prevent discoloring the pots and pans and they look like new and I've used them a few times so far. I'm so glad cooking and cleaning tips were included for stainless steel as I hadn't known them before. The handles stay cool and lids fit perfectly, I bought a large set and they're easy to store. Good value too. ... show more

  • Quality
Size: 10-Piece
These pans are perfect! Bought this set as the types of pieces were what I need for daily cooking. Learning curve with using stainless steel and lower temps. But if you follow instructions, it works well. Would have liked covers for the frying pans as the lids are not inter use between pans, but am using some older ones that do ok. Cleanup is great and the food has cooked well. Would have liked a 12 in fry pans rather than 10 in…more room to use for grilled cheese or French toast, etc. but far price, quality is superb and beautiful addition to my kitchen. I cook every meal and rarely eat out so this was an important purchase for me. ... show more

  • Extremely difficult to clean from just normal use.
Size: 12-Piece
Absolutely the worst purchase my wife and I have ever made. The Tramontina Signature Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel pans look good and things cook well in them, but they are impossible to keep clean. Let me backup and explain that both my wife and I hold advanced college degrees in STEM subjects, we both know how to read instruction manuals and how to follow instructions. In fact we have both written detailed user manuals back when we were software analysts. We followed the maintenance and cleaning instructions and never burnt or overcooked any food in the pans. Saute anything in a saute pan- forget it. We finally tried the blue Scotch non-marring pads- lots of work with no results. We then were forced to use the green Scotch pads and yes- they left fine scratches, and barely cleaned the pans. Tomorrow they will go to the county recycle center and I will enjoy throwing them into the compactor. We give a lot to charity and donate to places like Goodwill and other thrift stores, but there is no way I would want anyone else to suffer with these pans. ... show more

  • Good quality overall.
Size: 10-Piece
I like this set, they do clean up easily. They get a little patina but they still look fine. Not very heavy sobeasy to use. Handle stays cool. The only 2 complaints I have is not being able to withstand higher heat on an electric stove, and the variety of sizes that come with the set. The small pot and pan are really unnecessary. Would have liked a 12" pan and an extra 3 qt. ... show more

  • Good quality that fits the budget
Size: 12-Piece
Context for this review: I am a stay at home mom with three kids and I cook almost every meal. Occasionally I order a pizza or buy burgers but I make three meals a day. I avoid canned and frozen food, or anything premade. I do oatmeal, but no cereal. When I say I use every pot and pan I own- I mean it. I do not enjoy cooking (or cleaning) but I love my kids so it’s fun to feed them food that tastes good. I stopped using nonstick pans for health reasons. I initially invested in top of the line stainless steel pans of different sizes from proclamation and other brands. I did not buy pots though because I was having problems switching my hubby over. Spending over a thousand out of the gate was a lot so I decided to save up for pots. I had one older stainless steel pot that was larger and had to do. I have now successfully switched my hubby over and saved money so I needed at least one stainless steel pot of a medium size and was looking at price points. After the great reviews I saw from stainless steel lovers who had high end pans- they made clear there wasn’t a huge difference between the more expensive ones and these. So instead of buying one high end stainless steel pot, I bought a huge variety from this brand. I have tested them out and I am here to tell you, the reviews that say there isn’t a huge difference are right. I have used most of the pots and pans to make: pancakes, rice, eggs, omelettes (proper), beans, asparagus, etc. and there isn’t too much of a difference. The biggest difference I found was that these are more heat sensitive (I cook with gas) and you have to keep an eye on the pan because it’ll burn faster if you don’t adjust heat. I was making eggs over easy and had to reduce heat after the eggs were in to avoid sticking. My higher quality stainless steel are heavier and take longer to heat. Still these pans were worth the price and I will update once I see if they hold up to my nonstop cooking. ... show more
