Some people I noticed said that the bottom outside wasn't flat, or that the bottom inside wasn't flat, but mines was flat. It does get hotter faster with a lower flame, so if you treat it like a cast iron, it might end up warping on you. Feels well built for the price. I really like this pan. I had a tough time deciding which pan to finally buy. I decided on this one because I have a set of Tramontina non-stick frying pans that were made in USA and the quality seemed pretty good. This one is made in Brazil and not China. I've cooked a bunch of food in it now and I'm really happy I got this one. It's sturdy and the base is very solid and the lid fits tightly. I heat the pan slowly so as to prevent warping and then raise the heat to high for searing meats. I've used it in the oven without any issues also. my pan has a high spot in the middle...when you put olive oil or butter in the middle it runs to the outside leaving a dry spot except for 1 inch around the outside..my stove top is level...the liquids run evenly to the edge of the pan..maybe a factory second..just not right..I have not talked to the vendor so I dont want this to reflect negatively on them but the pan is bad ... show more
