This Traeger is the Leonardo Da DaVinci and the “Ironwood 885” is the Mona Lisa of Grills/SMOKER! This is a machine that God himself is in complete Awe! This jaw dropping Product is so good!!! It’s got the ease of Propane with the flavor of Wood/Charcoal! It is absolutely SIMPLE to use! A friend brought a Tri Tip to thanksgiving and promised I would like the product. I tried an end Piece (my favorite) and Time Froze! Floating on cloud 9! I could feel the warmth and happiness in my empty stomach. I PURCHASED ONE THE NEXT DAY! Ironwood 885. Noted Observations, 1. The product is HIGH Quality metal. 2. Assembly was simple. 3. They give you a cool Screwdriver and not that useless Garbage bits other Self assembly product give you. 4. Very large grates and cooking space 5. It’s operation is straight forward 6. It’s operation is , Set Temp, warm up, add meat (or your Tofurkey), push the super Smoke button, set timer and come back when done! The assembly was Simple. I’ve used it every day since I got it. Day 1, Burgers and Tri Tip Day 2, Tri Tip again Day 3, Home made sausage (*Drool*) Day 4, Roast Beef Day 5, Pork Spare Ribs (A must) Day 6, tonight, BEEF BACK RIBS! This one I put in the smoker around 12 noon and we sat down and ate at 6:45pm. A LOOOONG Low & Slow Heat & Smoke cook. The final Product was so SO GOOD! I could not imagine food the same way again. This is my first smoker but been with friend who use a different smoker. Nothing got me excited like this one! In fact, out of the thousands of Products I’ve purchased, this is one of a few I actually took the time to add a review. It’s that good! Ya, it’s 1500, but dollar for dollar, a stove is a 1500 dollar heat source. Traeger is a Machine of the Gods! Just look at those Ribs in the photo I added! I am new to the smoker world and this is what this machine has done for me, as a beginner! I cant wait until I fully understand the Art of Smoking! I put off purchasing a Traeger for years. This past summer I went to the county fair where they had a Traeger booth and I spent some time. They were pushing hard the newer Timberline and Ironwood XL. I wasn't ready to spend over $3,000 for one though. They did have the Ironwood 885 there also but because they wanted to sell the newer more expensive models, they acted like it was an unwanted step child and made you feel like a fool if you were to buy it. They did demonstrate all the grills well and did finally sell me on the idea of a pellet smoker though - so I came home and bought the Ironwood 885 on Amazon for $300 less than their "Best Price" at the fair! I have no regrets. Its been 6 months and I use it regularly. My favorite part is turning that bad boy on and the smell of smoke in the air. It is not real smokey - but it is like a campfire, it smokes the most when you first fire it up. It is like a convection oven and being able to set the temperature and let it maintain the temperature control and just sit back outside and drink a beer and smell the smoke in the air is GREAT! Anything you can cook in the oven you can cook on the Traeger and get a great smoke flavor in it. I cooked my first brisket over Labor Day weekend and all my guests loved it. Ran it almost 20 hours straight and refilled the hopper only twice. I am looking forward to doing a Turkey on it in a few weeks for Thanksgiving. I normally air fry my turkey, but going for a spatchcock turkey on the Traeger this year. If you're like me and been putting it off - just do it. I have a hard time making large $ purchases because I am a cheap butt! But Amazon made the impact easier with their 4 month no interest payment option which helped me get over my cheap attitude! :-)

I am a Traeger fan (their grills not so much their pellets). I already have a Pro 22 but wanted to upgrade to the Ironwood 650 due to the direct drive motor and the improved way it circulates the smoke. I’m very happy with my purchase. My first cook was a bone in pork shoulder and I utilized the super smoke function for the first several hours. Excellent results. Tonight I did a reverse sear on a thick T-bone steak. After the steak reached 110 internally (which was easy to track using the supplied probe and the WiFire app) I kicked the Traeger up to 500 to finish the steak. Got some nice grill marks and steak was nice and juicy. Delivery from Amazon was great. A two man team unloaded the package and placed it in my garage for me. Although free set up was offered I declined it because I wanted to make sure it was done right. Set up was easy and took about an hour. Only help I needed was to stand the grill upright after the legs and leg braces were attached. The Ironwood holds temperatures much more consistently Than my Pro 22 and the time it takes to recover a temp after having the lid open is also a great improvement. I use Cookin Pellets brand of pellets and they performed perfectly and really give a nice smokey flavor. Update: I have read reviews that complain there isn’t enough visible smoke emanating from this Traeger, well that is true and that’s a good thing. The 650 is designed to circulate the smoke and keep it in the chamber longer. I burn the same pellets in my Pro 22 and smoke pours out of the chimney rather than staying in the chamber with the protein producing excellent results. Is the final BBQ product as smokey tasting as a wood burning offset smoker? Nope, however it is much easier to use, and with the right pellets produces an excellent result.

My son loves it, I gave him that for Christmas and once he set it up days later he started cooking salmon, roast pork and chicken. Delicious told me, my daughter- in law and the kids said they loved everything that my son cooked. Very good product
