I have 6 of these. They work great, the video quality is good, and the app is easy to navigate. A little bit of a pain to connect to wifi when taking the cameras with, but nothing too awful. These are used to watch our dogs when out of the crate; the ability to adjust where the camera is facing is what made me get it. Works well. Even when there’s no lights in the camera quality is decent. Added to the rest of my Tapo cameras. All have been of good quality with a reasonable price. Using as in house camera to check on the dog when we are out and about. Has voice activation and can pan around to see where they are. Easy to set up, requires a SD card if your wanting storage.

The TP-Link Tapo camera works great as a pet camera and it’s an excellent value for the price. This camera was super easy to set up and has all the features I need to check in on my pets when I am sat work or away from home. Picture quality is good and the field of vision adequate, and with the panning feature it is easy to look into different areas of a room. You can pan side to side at least 180 degrees as well as up and down to a certain degree. The camera plus into a wall outlet so there is no concern over battery life. I have another security camera that I use in another area of the house that is rechargeable which is great for an area that isn’t close to a power outlet but you always have to worry about battery life and recharging. No concern with this one. As with other security camera you can set up alerts for motion and it has other features. One feature I like is being able to use a SD card to store pictures and videos rather than use a cloud account although you still have that option for a price. Picture quality is good, the only issue I’ve experienced is when the camera is pointed to a window which makes the picture much darker trying to adjust to the bright light. 4 stars because of the voice/talk delay that would occur utilizing that feature. All other aspects of this monitor is 5 stars. I was suprised when I realized the app, still open about 15 miles away, was still operable as if I was still in my house. I used this so I could be more on point with helping my mom, who had become diagnosed with an illness and her bedroom was located at the other end of the house. She easily could call out my name, the monitor would alert my phone or earbud. So ideal for my need. Took me a minute to get connected to my wifi initially, after and ongoing there was never connectivity issues. I had always plug in the unit and set atop a dresser. Easily, I had a view of the entire room, easy to use the directional arrows and the clarity was so good, even at night. . I bought them to watch my kitties when away and the cameras are awesome! The night vision allows me to see clearly and the ability to pivot and tilt gives me full range of the rooms. They are about the size of a single wick candle so can be put almost anywhere, but needing to have them plugged in limited a couple options for me. These cameras are perfect. Why did I choose this product over other brands: Pros The price point is perfect especially if you are looking to order multiple devices. Tapo is compatible with Alexa, so when there’s a notification on a camera Alexa can announce it. The app is straight forward and easy to use. You can take Live Photos and Videos through the app. The pan/tilt range is amazing and I like that you can put the cam in privacy mode. You can set different areas to alert you when there is specific activity going on (person detection, pet detection, motion tracking, vehicle detection) these features are great. There’s also an alarm that can be set to go off when someone is in your motion detection zone. The picture quality is comparable to higher priced cameras if not better. I have tried other brands and I am truly impressed and completely satisfied with Tapo products. Con’s: The only con I have is that I didn’t find out about these sooner.
