I looked at quite a few security cameras for indoor use; I had originally heard that Wyze were the best, but I was pointed towards these since they're made by TP-Link, and so far it hasn't disappointed! The pet detection is likely slightly better for dogs than cats, but overall it works great and I havent had any connection issues. The camera/picture quality is as advertised, which seems rare for cameras these days, the HDR is AMAZING compared to the normal mode I have to say, even if it does warm up the camera a bit. The night vision is great, it's easily switchable between the unnoticeable 950nm IR and the definitely-noticeable 800nm, which shows as a bright red light, and it tracks anything you want it to, pretty much. As soon as I set it to auto tracking, it was following me around as I moved across its view. It does seem to have an issue noticing my cat as a cat since she's small, but it does notice her after a bit. The point was more so to make sure she's undisturbed by people though, and the people-tracking works great along with the audio! If I need another camera, even just for simple monitoring or the other cats, I'll be getting another of these. ... show more

I’ve been using the TP-Link Tapo Pan/Tilt Security Camera as a baby monitor, and overall, it’s a fantastic product. The picture quality is clear, both during the day and at night, and the pan/tilt function lets me see the whole room easily. It’s quick and simple to set up through the app, and I love that I can check on my baby from anywhere. The motion detection works well and sends timely notifications, which is a huge plus for peace of mind. I also use it as a pet camera, and it’s been reliable for keeping an eye on my dog during the day. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is the slight delay in loading the live view at times, but it’s not a huge issue. For the price, it’s a fantastic option with plenty of features that work smoothly. Highly recommend for parents or pet owners looking for a solid, budget-friendly camera! ... show more

First it's more compact than I thought and that was a pleasant surprise. The privacy button is super awesome. I have mine set to turn off when I arrive home (by connecting my phone gps signal) but you can just touch The privacy button and turn it off or on and it completely hides the lens which is nice to know no one is 'hacking' in or turning them on without your knowledge. Peace of mind. The upgraded features for detection are also super nice. Nice dog bark or cat meow alert and tracking bases on detection type (movement, pet, vehicle etc) also has a boundary crossing feature similar to notification zone. So if your child/pet/person goes across the "threshold" u can get an alert. Lots of possibilities. The viewing area is also an amazing upgrade. Fast tracking. I can hear it moving a bit on tracking mode when house is super quiet. But overall this is a super nice sharp camera. ... show more

I recently purchased two TP-Link Tapo C200 Pan/Tilt cameras to keep an eye on my apartment while I'm away, primarily focusing on my mischievous cats. These cameras have been fantastic for monitoring their antics and ensuring everything is running smoothly with their automatic feeder and water fountain. The 360° horizontal and 114° vertical range allows me to see the entire room with the PTZ function in Frigate since I have the cameras both mounted in the back corners of their respective rooms. The night vision is also a huge upgrade from my previous webcams, which had no night vision support, providing excellent clarity even in low light. While I haven't used the 2-way audio much beyond some playful cat teasing, the camera offers a surprising amount of functionality. The only minor drawback is the power cord length; I had just enough length where I mounted the cameras, but the cords could definitely be a few feet longer. I just got this today so I’m not going to leave 5 stars until I have more time with it but I was able to set up so fast and the quality is good especially for the price. I got it on sale $16 so it is very worth it! My only regret so far is I only got one. My other concern is how easy would it be for someone to hack. There is a privacy option but when not in use I would just unplug it . I guess only time will tell but for a pet camera I’m glad I have the peace of mind now! ... show more
