Great purchase. Attach cables, plug-in to power source and walk away. Automatic battery sensing and automatic turn off when fully charged. Incredible performance. I have a BMW M3 that doesn't get much use, and the battery went totally flat. So flat my Battery Tender couldn't charge it. Gave this charger a try and it got it fully 'repaired' and charged in just about 7 hours. Saved me $300 for a replacement. It's a little unclear how to use it but you just need to let it do it's thing. Takes a while in between phases and cycles and whatever it's doing. You'll think it's just sitting there at times. Highly recommended.

I'm giving it 4 stars, because a few things bugged me about it. I bought this for my GF and her daughter. I did not do my normal research but this had a lot of high ratings so I bought it. Trying it out myself, some things surprised and aggravated me. It was extremely small and light, unlike other chargers I have. I assume this is because it's not a high amperage charger. The clips for attaching to the battery or other connection points are not copper. I'm no expert but pretty sure I've never seen a charger with non-copper clips/clamps. I assume the clamps are less conductive than copper, but is that a big deal here....probably not. The plastic protection on the clamps is so thick I could not clamp to the side-mount terminals on my truck battery. And yes, I know you should not connect directly to the battery, but I sometimes do. Had to connect elsewhere. I connected to my seldom-driven truck and the charger indicated the battery was at 60% charge. It charged for about a minute or two before I decided I needed to reposition the charger. When I reconnected the charger almost immediately, it indicated 100% charged, and would not start charging. I assume (like a lot of smart chargers) it was thrown off by the 2-minute surface charge (again, I am no expert). I could not get the charger to start charging again until I turned on the headlights to drain the battery a little, then reconnected the charger and all was fine. The charger showed this same peculiarity with other batteries. I should look at the instructions to determine if I need to do something different, but I've noticed when the charging is complete, the unit appears to shut off completely. Maybe it's a timing thing but when left charging all night, the charger appears dead the next morning; nothing on the display, which bothers me. It immediately shows 100% charged when you turn it back on. All in all, a great charger for my GF. It has the usual protections against reverse hookup and all that. The display continuously rolls through various status screens and is informative. Again, except for a little aggravation, I'd have given it 5 stars.

I bought this to replace another brand that failed right after the warranty ended. About 2 months after. While the two works the same way, I've had this one for a long time. I received this around Sept 2021. This charger has been used on some really dead batteries. Some I had to put jumper cables on just to get enough voltage for the charger to see it is connected. On a few occasions, it ran at the maximum current for several hours with the fan whirring away at full speed. It just kept charging until the battery was completely charged. When my other brand failed, I looked inside. It was cheap made. I haven't looked inside this one but to charge sometimes dual automotive batteries which requires running at the maximum current for several hours, plus still last well past the warranty, it has to be well made with some good components and a good design. I've only used the engine start feature a couple times. It did work. If it all possible tho, I'd recommend a proper charge. If in a hurry, it will start a modern car. May require two times for a good sized truck. Make sure you wait a bit between the two engine start runs. It can overheat the charger if ran to close together. Check the manual but mine wants a 90 second wait. If I needed another charger, I'd certainly buy another like this one. I'm very happy with the way this charges and the durability. It performs a safe charge and detects bad batteries very well.

I have 2 of these. This charger is very easy to use and is a great resource for my shop. I did have 1 to stop working and it was over a year old. I emailed the company and they asked a few questions and some pictures of what the problem was. They gave me a quick option to pay 15.00 for shipping and just a few days later I have another new one to replace the broken one. I would highly recommend this charger for home or shop use.

Easy to use and simple to set up and run through the analyses. Took 8 minutes to discover a battery that had been setup for trickle charge and never fully charged had completely failed. Had spent nearly a week trying to figure out what was wrong with a good, expensive battery that was under warranty and should be working. Comes with manual and steps are described. Can't really mess up as the system is smart and follows the steps for checking your battery. Start with the 3 amp setting, them proceed to the 15 amp and that should do all the testing for you and if the battery is totally failed will tell you can't be charged. Reconditions and tests battery in 8 steps on its own and makes several tries then reports failure....
