Description

The Toter heavy duty trash can is a 2-wheeled container with a molded-in axle and attached lid. Toter trash and recycle cans offer a service life expectancy virtually double that of other brands and each comes with a 10 year warranty. The large footprint and aerodynamic design create a superior wind and set-down stability and are compatible with automated or semi-automated collection waste truck lifters. The rugged wheels make Toter cans easy to maneuver and the ergonomic design leads to easy to tilt and roll, even when full. Toter cans are manufactured through a patented molding process which allows for added rigidity and extra material in critical wear areas, creating their patented rugged rim at the top edge and the wear strip at the bottom of the container. We live in South Dakota, and the weather is brutal on our garbage cans. My husband was getting tired of purchasing a new garbage can every year. I did deep research with loads of comparisons, and the Toter appeared to be the best can for our needs. It’s very sturdy, well made, and much larger than I expected. The big wheels are ideal for taking the garbage down our long, steep driveway. The best part, it arrived a week earlier than expected. I’ll post an update after It goes through a South Dakota winter. If you keep an eye out for a sale, you can get the 64 gallon version from Amazon for just under $70, which is about the same price local big box and warehouse stores sell it for, but with the convenience of not needing to figure out how to get it home. At that price, the Toter is a pretty great deal, relative to similar sized cans in the price range. The construction is rigid, but won't shatter if it gets hit by a car or garbage truck (I've seen both happen, and the Toter didn't even crack or lose shape). Wheeling it around is a breeze for me at 6'1", and the geometry makes it easy to move a full load around for most adults and older children. I bought this to match one I bought a few months ago, but noticed that they seem to have redesigned the 64 gallon a little bit. The lid is no longer the same as pictured. It now looks much more similar to the 96 gallon model. It's not a big deal, and you'd really have to look to notice a difference, but functionally, the older design had an upper lip that made it a bit easier (and cleaner) to open. Nothing I'd send it back for, but if I had known, I probably would have gone back to the store to get the older style. ... show more

We lost a lid to high winds for one of our older 32gallon round trash bins. So we decided this time we wanted one with a lid attached. This fit the bill perfectly. They are very durable yet still light enough to lift. The wheels are much bigger and sturdier than on the old trash cans. This makes them easier to roll. You can feel the durability and strength of the material. They do SEEM to be a tighter fit for our trash bags. This is likely due to the design which may be for added strength to the trash bin. However we still have had no issues with any lack of space in the bins for weekly trash pick up. The mold of the bin also means that you have more edges to clean inside. Should be easy enough to spray out with a water hose. But if you are wanting to scrub it out, be aware that you will have more edges inside due to the molding. The hinged lids are a great, no more worry about lost lids or warped lids(from when trash men stuffed lids into the old cans). ... show more
