The media could not be loaded. Changed my review because it is annoying. I was able to get a video on eventually but should have waited. Feel bad giving it a 1 star review but it makes a loud noise whether I put the batteries on one side or both. As you can hear from the video, the clock makes a loud grinding noise. Tried putting a piece of cardboard in before closing but it didn’t work. It only makes the sound when you close the clock. Even if you almost close it and don’t lock it, it still makes the sound. Tried taking the batteries out on either side but still get the noise. Gonna try some foam next and hope it works. After that my only other option is to remove one side. Tried the batteries because I’ll only see one side but it still made the noise when closed. Threw the box away so I’ll just try what I can before I detach one side. VERY DISAPPOINTED Okay, tried to take a video but Amazon kept asking for access to the microphone. I pressed okay on my iPhone but it was too shaky and out of focus. Anyway, this is a great clock. It is unusually attractive and the gears work silently. For a good 45 minutes I couldn’t get the clock to work. According to the menu it said it took 3 batteries on one side and two on the other. It wasn’t until I read the q and a that I figured it needed another battery. The inside is mostly black but I finally saw where the extra 2 batteries go. After I inserted the batteries, everything is working fine. If I steady my old shaky hands, I’ll try to add a video. It is heavy and well made and I give it 5 stars. I may buy another as a gift as it is unusual but attractive and a conversation piece. However, had I known it took 6 batteries, I would have been less nervous. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND GIFTABLE! ... show more

Love the design. Love the concept. Would definitely recommend this. However, it does have its flaws. This clock has a double face, one on each side to tell the time. One of the faces is crooked and you can tell because of the gears. Also, the hinge is tedious to latch because the mechanism of the face frame is crooked. It still latches if you lift it a bit. So, I'm not complaining about that too much. Batteries not included but you will need 4 AA batteries. Two for each side. I really like the artistry that is in this piece. Paint is a nice solid black. Gears move nicely and I believe, it's one of the main features that is best. Chain link design for the base is another best feature. Stands at about a ruler high.
