The media could not be loaded. Even though made of cheap wood but I still love it! Only thing missing is the plastic tray for the base. I must ordered a plastic tray separately costing another $100. Not sure others will like that. I removed the metal piece on his window of his bedroom because he needed room to maunever back out. The media could not be loaded. I did a little customization by painting a little desert mural on the back panel before I put it together. In his previous enclosure which was glass, I had put a painting behind it, and I had started to notice he’d come out just to look at it! So I had to paint him his own scene when I got this :) It took a bit of time to put it together but it really wasn’t bad, and the directions were pretty good. I didn’t have a power drill so I did it all by hand and it still wasn’t bad. It’s very sturdy when all together and looks so nice! Even my little grump of a tortoise is very happy with it. In the big open part I put down some self-adhesive pieces of tan felt to give him some grip but also to be soft. And in the fully enclosed part I put a good inch and a half of playsand, then a couple inches of coconut bedding and topped it off with a layer of cypress mulch. He loves digging and burrowing down into that. Tortoises should have their basking spot to be around 100 degrees F and between 70-80 degrees F on the cool side. This enclosure is big enough for him to thermal regulate properly! The basking spot is right at 100 degrees, the middle is 80 and the opposite side is just over 70. I was worried it was going to be too small but it’s actually perfect! I highly recommend this if you need a nice, sturdy, good-looking small enclosure. ... show more

Works great! It was surprisingly easy to put together, only took me (someone who struggles to put basic furniture together) about 20 minutes. The materials arent the highest quality but it's sturdy enough and seems secure. I would say it's the perfect size for 4 or 5 quail and mine are pretty happy in it Just a note - it doesn't seem treated for outdoor weather so I think it's best indoor or in a garage / covered area. ... show more

I just got 2 of these. I have several tortoises and this is the best habitat I have found for them so far. Right now I'm using it for a 5 inch Russian and she loves it. I put some old place mats in the bottom for easy cleanups and some eco bark for bedding. She comes out to eat and bask & then back in her nest later on to sleep. I have 2 hatchlings and when they are big enough these will be perfect for natural sun outings safely! I have 5 cats and with these I don't have to worry anymore about them bothering my sweet tortoises or any other predators outside either. They were easy to assemble and seem sturdy enough to last for years with proper use. So glad I found them..well worth the price. They were shipped fast & got them in 4 days! ... show more

This enclosure went together easily in less than an hour with a Philips head screwdriver. The diagrams are a little hard to make out which contributed to a few minor mistakes along the way (putting parts together backward). However, it was easy to unscrew the part and put it in properly. The tolerances are close, wood is soft enough to not need a pilot hole to screw in on the places without pilot holes. Good size for 2-3 guinea pigs to enjoy the fresh air. ... show more

It wasn't super hard to put together, but the screw holes are not present, so it is a pain in da booty that way. The wood is cheap, but it does the trick for my desert tort hibernation. I set it up on my covered patio with bricks underneath to protect from water because I am sure water would destroyit. I have a huge area for him for the rest of the year, but he was malnourished when I got him so I want to not let him burrow too deep.The worst thing for me is the chemical smell. It has been sitting on my patio for two days and it still has fumes. I have not been able to use it yet. If the smell doesn't dissipate soon, I will return it. . ... show more

I purchased this on February 27 and put it together two weeks ago to my my skinny pigs “Guinea pigs “ on the ground to get fresh grass while I was outside in my garden I zip tied plastic mesh that was cut to size and to fit right over the metal wire to insure they can’t escape right after putting it together it started falling apart and wasn’t even used but once ,the seller blames me for defective Cage and it falling apart when I only used it once Kept asking for more pictures even though I sent multiple just to prolong the response for a resolution Listing says 100% satisfied or we’ll help with a resolution Well there resolution was $20 refund even though their cage went up $10 within a week and for me to fix it when I haven’t even used it but once and that was for a few hours just for the cage to do what it was built to do So if you want to keep your pets “DO NOT BUY THIS CAGE” ... show more
