As long as you don't knock them directly these hold just about anything you want. I use them to hold the remote for the outside TV, my phone, drinks, yeti cups, etc. They are very strong and don't break if they are hit or flung off the side of the pool. Note they are designed to be facing cup side into the pool, and in most cases they are above the water level but if you overfill the pool, or make big waves they may get wet. They don't protect what's inside the holder, just keep it out of the water and easy to grab. Perfect for what I wanted, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for above ground pool addition!

So I didn't buy these to be used as cup holders. We have an intex above ground pool and if it's even a little windy, the cover would blow off. We put the cover on and then clip it down with these and honestly it works like a charm. I've also used to hold a drink or my cellphone on the side of the pool and they work great as intended!

These are great for our above ground pool. We shortened the middle tab that stabilizes it against the wall though. They were too long and didn’t hold well with large drinks. After the adjustment they work great. Exactly what we needed.

The holders arrived on time and seemed to be made really well...i.e. durable. Unfortunately they did not fit the pool I ordered them for. I needed a 3 inch or greater and these seem to only come in 2 inch. So DAMN, I had to return, which was no hassle.

Some waste your time buying this pool cup holder. By the time I actually set up my pool, and tested these cup holders; my return/refund had expired. Had to throw them away. Useless, couldn’t even hold up a cell phone and just slid off. Worst product.
