This is great to keep birds in but you will want to reinforce your own way to keep animals out. This gives you a great foundation to build upon. Wire is good wire it’s just a weaker guage. Easy to set up plan on spending a couple hundred & more to reinforce depending what your trying to keep out

The chicken wire that goes over it is very cheaply made. It falls apart. They don't give you in a zip ties to put the thing on so be prepared and buy a couple of hundred zip ties. The corner brackets don't hold together so constantly I am repairing.. however it does hold the chickens in most of the time. And the frames work is truly the only good part.. you may want to put up your own chicken wire fencing.. I had to add a second layer around the bottom, to keep my chickens from finding an easy exit. ... show more

    • Not designed for permanent use. basic movable chicken run.

This is not a good Permanent pen for chickens, the idea behind it is a movable chicken run. but for the price, you get a decent basic frame if you do want to make it permanent like i did. First thing i did was head to Home Depot and get some pipe to raise the side walls about 3ft higher. Threw the door assembly out and build a wood feed shed on one end with Laying boxes and a wood door to enter the yard with. Second thing i did was get 1/4 square mesh wire to go around the walls and used the wire that came with the package to double layer the roof. i used the UV tarp on the far end and covered the other half with clear greenhouse roofing from off the top of the feed shed. the over hang comes out about 1/3 of the chicken run. ... show more

I have to give this 5 stars because of the price. It does the job, and it's sturdy enough. 2 people can easily pick it up and move it when needed. I haven't put the canvas on, yet, as it is still Winter and I want the chickens to get plenty of sun, but will put it on before the Spring rains come around. The canvas is more like a woven polyester cloth, so it looks like it will hold up to wind and weather. I needed something quickly for 4 chickens I rescued to keep them safe during the day while they free range. This will not keep them safe at night, when raccoons or coyotes may come around, but during the day, when hawks and the neighbor's dog may be a concern, they are well protected, and I will hear them squawking and get to them quickly if needed. They send you enough fencing to do the entire structure and then some extra, which is nice. The metal netting does sag a bit between the sections, and I find myself brushing my head against it while I'm in there, but really, just the peace of mind I get when I have to leave them out there alone is worth every penny. ... show more

Easy to put together Great instruction manual. But the holes drilled for the door do Not match up. The hardward for the door is very Cheap. The Latch will NOT Keep the door Close. I had to go out and buy some small chains to wrap around the door to keep it closed. I Would Not Buy again. I would of send it back but It took all day to put up and the thought of trying to take it all down and roll up the cheap wire and fit everything back in the box was just Not something I want to do after all the time it took to put up. I will sell it at yard sale. Would NOT BUY Again ... show more

I was skeptical about purchasing this pen for my outdoor cats. I wanted something to protect them during the day while they were getting some fresh air. This pen was very easy to put together and the tarp that came with it covered half to give them some shade. The only downside to this pen was the zip ties they were too small and frail to endure the hot temp. Since I was afraid that they would not last very long, I went to the local hardware store and purchased the heavy duty zip ties, that worked perfect. ... show more

The frame is what you should be after if buying this metal coop. The chicken wire and tarp are absolutely garbage and honestly shouldn't even be included and the pricing should be dropped because you'll have to purchase a better quality tarp and wire right off the bat. Fairly easy to put together and light weight. I would purchase it again in the future. I would like to see a slightly larger diameter tube just because finding hardware to attach to the 1" tubing is impossible to find. I would like to add another door latch on the bottom to prevent any predator from prying the door open. ... show more
