I always liked that Paul McCartney song. OK, this is a pretty good ab roller. It seems reasonably sturdy, and I'm not some big linebacker guy. If you're a big, beefy character, you may want to get a heavy duty one. Look at the photographs of the product, and it will be easier to assemble. It comes in a few parts, and the language on the little pamphlet is terribly translated into English. (It's kind of humorous, actually.) it rolls smoothly, and does have that increased resistance "braking," so you are far less apt to roll it away from you too far, ending up on your belly, flat on the floor. The timer has a little magnet that fits to a small circular piece of metal on the handlebar, It's fine, so long as you don't bang it into anything, because it will fall off if you do. If you bother to look at the product page image windows on the page's side bar, you'll see their recommendation for "three times a day, for 20 minutes each time, to get firm abs." Ha......no kidding. That's an hour a day of nothing but abdominal/core work. Of course it will tone up your belly. Silly, but it has nothing to do with the product. I like it, because it gives me variations on my core workout, between doing resistance sit-ups on my Bowflex, crunches, sitting leg lifts, and some floor core exercises I already do. ... show more

    • Great little ab exerciser! Easy to assemble, here's some tips

When you don't have to worry about your hands and wrists supporting your upper body weight, you can really focus more on the targeted ab workout. It's a lifesaver especially if you have wrist pain. This model solves a lot of problems. When assembling, keep in mind that the spring-loaded wheel is meant to store spring tension by rolling it forward in one direction. It releases that energy for the return, subtle but effective. It's important for the front wheel to turn only one way going out, because if it rolls out in the backward direction, it won't have a spring return, and it could damage the mechanism. So, step 1 when assembling, look at the arrow on the side of the body. That's pointing the way that the bars should go, that's the forward direction. Also--if you have trouble getting that first part of the bar through with the push buttons, turn over the machine. The bottom is open, and you can reach in between the wheels and push down the button on the bar to get it through the other side. And make sure the bars go on in the right direction. Then, have fun! This roller wheel is very comfortable to use. My only complaint (and why I took one star off) is that it comes with a timer, but the timer is held on with a tiny magnet, and any time you bump into it or move it too much it just falls off. I like that it has some "braking" - when you roll forward, it slows down after a certain number of rotations, so you don't just fall flat and lose control. Then when you retract, it "rebounds" as they say on the product page - gives you a little assist on the way back. It feels very stable and is easy to use. The knee pad it comes with would be useful if you are working out on wood flooring. It's not terribly thick, but it does the job and my knees were comfortable the few times I used it on a hard floor. It seems to be well made and looks like it will hold up to use. I'll report back if there are any concerns with durability. This is more fun than just doing planks. Quick and easy to assemble. Most parts of the product are plastic. The machine worked OK for me, but I felt that it was not very sturdy. It's kind of cheaply made. I don't think it will last that long.
