I purchased this radiant panel heater plus a hanging radiant heater to prepare for the arctic blast that was predicted in January, 26. I'm so glad I did! I easily mounted this unit on the wall next to their laying boxes. They hate it when I try to teach them to use a flap over the door to the chicken yard to block the cold air, so this wall panel stands between the hen door and the laying boxes adjacent to it. To be clear, this doesn't put enough heat out to "warm" their hen house - it puts enough heat out to keep a small area near to the panel from freezing. And really, that's all I was after. So far, if I get out to the hen house before noon, even when we were under that frigid arctic blast, the eggs were not frozen. I believe it was worth the price, for sure. I am getting another hanging radiant heater because my hen house is fairly spacious, and another blast from the north is due to hit in February. But with the help of these safe, small and effective units, I know my gals will be okay.

Seems to work as claimed at least for the first few weeks of having it so far . Chilly nights in East Tennessee havent gotten below freezing yet . The high thirties at night has been the low so far and this heater holds a comfortable temp in the coop for our feather babies , all girls (hens) . Yes we even hold and pet our chickens . May update this post if this stops working before the end of winter in early 2026 . To give context of how long we have used it . Bought 11-7-2025 . The 8 foot cord is really nice . Remote is a nice addition but when the chickens are covering sensor the temp has to be changed manually .

Unless my device is defective it’s useless. It does get hot however the heat range is literally no more than 5 inches. As I see it my chickens would have to be almost right up against it to feel any kind of warmth. I have two hens(my coop is not big at all only ideal for 4 hens) I did the wall mount and added their roosting bar to sit on to be very comfortable and enjoy the warmth. As a test I also set a small water container near it and it was partially frozen in the morning. I didn’t expect it to be useless and waited too long to install and missed the return opportunity ( originally purchased late summer) DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!

I bought one to put into a smaller coop where I have 9 week old chickens and it was perfect, keeping them nice 'n warm plus gave me peace of mind that this was such a safe alternative. Then, during our deep freeze, I quickly bought another one for my other, larger coop for my older chickens. Once again, it's perfect! Easy to set up and works great! Nice and warm with options for less or more heat. I really love these heaters plus I have happy chickens too! Makes all the difference in the world knowing my chickens are warm.

While this coop heater does produce radiant heat, there is no timer on it so it runs until it falls over or is manually shut off/unplugged. Not programmable except to set the temperature. The remote looks flimsy and does not work. For the price, there are better radiant heaters that can be set for a specific number of hours. It is backup for my other heaters that do run on time cycles, so there is always some heat in the large coop. Has a one year warranty and is returnable till Jan. 31.

These heaters are great! I ordered them for my cat shelters to keep the stray kitties nice and warm while eating and sleeping. Started with first order of two and then bought two more. Kitties love them and their shelters are very cozy for the winter. Mounted very easily and I love the ability to easily change the temperature. Great purchase, will probably buy more as I add more shelters!

This has been great to keep our chickens warm throughout the winter. It doesn’t heat up the whole coop up to temp, but gives the chickens a place to get warmed up by. It radiates enough heat in our coop so the chickens can be comfortable. I like how it’s up against a wall and takes up very little room. It even works in extreme temperatures like -40 that we have experienced during this winter in Alaska. I’d for sure recommend, since it’s so much safer than heat lamps.
