A great value because thermistors are fast and only have to have the tip in the liquid being measured, while an old-fashioned thermometer has to have at least 1/2” to be accurate, and takes longer to read the temperature. Magnet lets me keep it right on the fridge, so I don’t have to open the drawer to find it. Turns on when you open it, so you’re not fiddling with buttons when you’re in a hurry to check a sauce. While maybe not as "high speed" as the top names in instant read thermometers, this instant read probe is more than what I need as a home chef. Super sharp probe with a fast readings whether I'm checking a roasted chicken in the oven I'm serving for dinner, or giving the green light to multiple pork butts and whole chickens coming off my smoker. It costs least than the high end models but I feel it is just as accurate,, albeit maybe not as fast. I have never worried to within thousands of seconds if something is done or not. With that said, it has a calibration function which I found absolutely amazing. I followed the instructions, calibrated my unit, and have never looked back wondering if I had made a good choice. When doing a lot of hens or pork butts, I always checks what my meter block probs are telling me and I am always on target. I would recommend this thermal prob, I feel it delivers professional grade performance at a fraction what profession grade equipment costs

Larger than my other thermometers. Very easy to read and digits flip like a ipad as you turn it over. good for lefties or righties. 3x A battery makes replacement easier and cheaper. Don't know how long it will last

Works great and extremely fast to respond to the temp. Only takes a second or so. I like that it turns off when you close it. I've accidentally turned off others by button before. Probe length is good enough to reach the middle of big cuts of meat. The rotation of the numbers was interesting at first, but I think that will come in handy in the future. Would recommend this ThermoPro!

A while back I bought another digital thermometer from Costco and it was OK--but slow and a little tricky to use. Since this one comes highly recommended by Americas Test Kitchen and others, I bought it on special and I am SO GLAD. It is instantly ON and instantly OFF. I reads the temperature instantly. It stores compactly. I could not ask for more. LOVE it!
