I am so glad I purchased this ThermoPro thermometer model number TP610. It is accurate. Constructed with good quality parts/materials. It is easy to learn & use & it has nice features as you see on this item's product page. The LCD has been performing great & the automatic rotation is very helpful. This holds a charge for a long time. I love the automatic power on when you use the attached swivel probe. It is easy to clean & the SET feature is great for setting a specific temperature. You can even change from °C/°F. Wasn't expecting much from a budget thermometer but it's pretty good, spent a while browsing all the options and this seemed the best for features and quality. Flicks open and turns on, reads fairly fast. Dipped it in hot oil, jumped straight to about 180, then 220, then 260, then slowly crept up to the actual temperature with the increments shrinking each update which is about two seconds apart. If you're not doing some scientific experiments it gives you a decent ballpark for whatever you're trying to do. Said 350, dropped in the onion, fried like I expected.     • Easy to read, even in direct sun! Great for grilling.
I got this because my previous thermometer was LED and was unreadable outside in the sun when I was using it to check food on my grill. This one has a large LCD display with a backlight and easy to read. I like that it has two readouts, one for the built-in probe and one for the wired probe. My old one didn't have that. I'll probably use this a lot more, particularly when grilling steaks so they don't get overdone. My only complaint is the alarm on it is nearly impossible to hear. Sounds like a faint high-pitched chirping of an 80s digital watch. I could only hear it if it was really close to me and there were no other noises. Not a problem as I don't use the alarm anyway. The display does flash when the alarm goes off so if you're watching it closely you'll see that it's reached the target temperature. ... show more

    • This is the best bargain ever!
I saw a lot of bakers using this type of thermometer on the Great British Bake Off. My old instant read had died after just one too many holiday dinners! This is such a wonderful too. It is absolutely instant read-less than 2-3 seconds for a read. I love the fact that it can be bluetoothed to my phone and if I'm not right there it notifies me that my food is done. It also is rechargeable so fewer batteries to recycle. For some reason, it makes me very happy that there is a bottle opener on one end. Truly needless and random but I guess if you want to pop a cold one this makes one less piece of equipment to have close by! Definitely worth the money!! ... show more
