Bought this to replace a previous one that didn't collapse but to be honest I don't use the collapsing feature, like ever. It sits in the microwave until I need it. As a cover it works great, vents the steam, fits in my standard size microwave and covers the plate or bowl as needed.

This is large enough for my microwave plate and it expands a cover for when I have bowls or other things that I don’t want to splatter so this has been a great value for my money and it is durable and it keeps food from getting onto my microwave plate, which was one of my concerns and I’m glad that it delivered in an excellent way.
