This is an easy way to instantly check someone's (or your own) temperature. I have wanted an easier way to quickly check for a fever. Doing the under-the-tongue approach, while very accurate, takes too much time. This takes about 1 second and there is no clean-up afterwards. I think this thermometer is fairly accurate. It measures to a tenth of a degree and can be calibrated up to 2 degrees either way if needed (mine was plenty accurate out-of-the-box). As you can expect, you will get slightly different readings depending on where you are sampling. The manual covers expected temperature ranges for several places. I find it more accurate to sample the ear canal than the forehead/temple but either work well. The instructions are pretty well written. I like that you can turn the sound off. Just note that when you turn it on, it remembers the last state it was used in. There is a memory setting to store up to 35 readings. I'm not sure what that would be used for, but its better to have a feature and not need it than to need it and not have it. This requires two AAA batteries to operate. Those are not included. Overall this exceeded my expectations in terms of features, accuracy and functionality. I am very happy with this.

This infrared non-contact thermometer comes in a decently-decorated glossy cardstock box. One end was sealed with a "Q.C. Pass" sticker, but the other end was unsealed. The box contained the thermometer, an instruction manual, an inspection certificate, 2 shrinkwrapped AAA alkaline batteries ("Bursto" brand, lol), and a soft grey drawstring storage bag. The official model number is FC-IR206; this is stated on the instruction manual *and* on a very professional-looking product info label (which even includes a serial number) on the back of the thermometer. The battery compartment slides open and closed, no screws involved, so it is easy to install and remove the batteries. (I recommend storing any AA or AAA-powered device with the batteries removed, if you're not going to be using it frequently, in case the batteries might eventually leak.) The inside of the battery compartment is clearly labeled with the orientation to insert the batteries, and the springs hold the batteries well. Once the batteries are installed, just hold the thermometer an inch or two away from what you want to measure, and press the big green button. It beeps when the reading is complete, unless you mute it by pressing the small white button on the side. When testing on my family, readings seemed to be accurate. I like that it also has an option to switch modes for measuring non-human objects across a wider range of temperatures.

Really happy with this thermometer so far. It's nothing overly special or unique in terms of function or build but nothing gives me any reason to believe it's not accurate or going to last. Reads really fast and easy and as long as it's close enough to give a quick idea of if something's out of the ordinary that's good enough. I might prefer an on/off button but it turning itself on and off automatically at least means you won't accidentally run the batteries down. Also really glad this runs on standard AAA batteries instead of watch batteries like our oral thermometer. Don't really care for the fabric bag it comes with for storage, doesn't seem great for bathroom storage. Would have rather seen a hard case or something, but I get that would probably have brought the price up.

I was thrilled to find this. I have been eyeing similar devices since the start of the pandemic but didn't want to spend $50-60; I think I saw one as low as $40 once on sale and it was sold out, I only the sign left behind. This was accurate and fast testing as my wife and I each tested it on our foreheads. No longer have to worry about not drinking water for minutes before an under-the-tongue thermometer or worrying about cleaning the thermometer if we suspect that one of might actually be sick and trying to prevent the other from getting it.

I picked up this forehead thermometer to replace an old one. It works great, is lightweight, easy to read, and ready to go, no programming required. At the push of a button you get an accurate reading. I tested it several times, the temperature stayed the same the first few readings but did go up by .01 degree. It has a memory feature to record recent temperatures and a fever alert. Can be converted to Centigrade or Fahrenheit, two AAA batteries included. Is wise to hv a working thermometer on hand and am very glad I got it.

I got this because when it's that "time of the year" for everyone not to feel great, no one can ever find the one we have because someone else has it. So I wanted a second one. This one is lighter weight than my other one and works even faster. I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take to read the temperature, but this thing only takes about a second to read the temperature. It came with the batteries it operates on (2 AAA) and was super easy to set up. It also has a little carry case for it. Overall, I'm super pleased with this thermometer, and so far, I would say 5 stars. Highly recommend it!

This infrared ear thermometer is easy to use and read. The numbers on the digital screen are a good size and it has sound to let you know when they temperature registers. There's a guide on the box telling you the different ranges and the fever zone. Batteries are included. There's an option on the side to turn the volume off as well. I compared it to the infrared forehead thermometer I have and the temps only varied by 0.2.

The thermometer is very easy to use. Just point it at the forehead and push the button. It reads the person's temperature super quick and is pretty accurate. It is especially useful if you are trying to take the temperature of a squirmy toddler who won't sit still for a typical thermometer. It comes with a nice little drawstring bag to store and protect your thermometer.
