  • Ease of Use: Scan the surface of your object, hold down the trigger of the thermometer gun, get temp anywhere within the range of -58842F / -50450C. Then watch as your result appears on the bright LCD display in less than half a second.
  • Bright & Readability: Each infrared thermometer features a large, backlit LCD screen, making it easy to read temperatures even in low light. With 2 AAA batteries included, powering up the thermal gun is a cinch.
  • Friendly Design: The new Lasergrip features a maximum and average temperature mode. Additionally, the 15-second auto-off function extends battery life, while the low battery indicator lets you know when it's time to replace to batteries.
  • 2 x AAA Batteries Included: The Lasergrip has been upgraded to run on 2 pre-installed AAA batteries, which are more convenient to replace than 9V batteries.
  • Do Not Use on Humans: The Lasergrip is intended for use on inanimate objects only. Measuring the temperature of a human or animal is unsafe.

  • Accurate, cheap, & effective.
Style: Advanced Color: Dark Yellow
I don't use this for food, but it's fun to take the temperature of electronics and important to know when it's more hot than it should be. Seems accurate and it's easy to use.

  • Easy to Use - Accurate Readings
Style: Advanced Color: Dark Yellow
What a handy little tool to have around the house. Since our friend, who owns his own HVAC business showed us one of these devices, I knew I had to have one. Yes, this one is not the $200+ one he uses, but it sure does the job and at under $20, it is more than just a bargain. One thing I like to use it for besides ensuring the air conditioner is operating correctly, is on the outdoor grill, to measure the temperature, especially when having to have direct and indirect heat sides on the grill. Best of all, the device is easy to use. ... show more

Seem to work pretty good and easy to use. I use it to check the oil temperature in my hubs/ axle on trailer. Hopefully get to use it more on other things also good price compared to the $40 one I purchased at O'Reilly which I returned after purchasing this one from amazon

  • Handy and fun to use. Very simple and easy to use.
Style: Advanced Color: Dark Yellow
Works great. Super easy to use and read, appears to be reliable and accurate. I find myself "shooting" temps all over the house just for fun. We got it to tell us if AC was working or not and we have some high up vents that we can't feel the temps or cool air from so this handy gizmo allows us to tell temps super easily. Would recommend and would get again. Look forward to using it on the BBQ for some cooking also. ... show more

  • Accurate, Fast, and Easy to Use!
Style: Classic Color: Black
I bought this to use at home and right out of the box, it was easy to set up, just pop in the batteries and it's ready to go. Fast and Accurate Readings: The response time is almost instant, and the readings are consistently accurate within a reasonable range. User-Friendly: The digital display is bright and easy to read, even in low light. The laser pointer helps pinpoint exactly where you're measuring. Versatile Applications: I've used it for cooking, checking HVAC system temperatures, and even automotive diagnostics — very handy tool! Overall, this is a reliable tool for DIYers, professionals, and homeowners alike. Great value for the price. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Excellent & Inexpensive
Style: 1 Laser Color: Light Yellow
Product: Etekcity Lasergrip 800 Digital Infrared Thermometer Gun Rating: 4.5 of 5 (excellent) I cook a lot with cast iron flat griddles, both small and large ... a surface wholly unsuited for corded digital temperature probes, because at the sort of temperatures they’re most commonly used at (450-600F) if the droopy cord connecting the probe to the sensor touches the surface for anything longer than a brief instant, it’s toast, and you have to buy a new one. I’ve ruined several probes that way over the years, and it rapidly becomes annoying. To date, my favorite solution by far is one of the latest generation hand-held wireless Infrared Sensor Guns like the Etekcity Lasergrip 800, which cost me an extremely reasonable and affordable $25 usd in 2017. Anytime I heat a pot of oil for deep-frying, or use a saucier to reduce braising liquid into a thick sweet glaze, or if I use my griddles for things like making Lebanese mountain bread, homemade tortillas, quesadillas, pancakes, fermented dosa crepes, pressed sandwiches (paninis & tortas), burgers, steaks, bacon, blackened fish, eggs, et al., the Etekcity 800 is incredibly handy for rapidly spot-checking the temperature status of your griddle (so you can finesse it accordingly), and also finding any patterns of uneven heating that occur in your setup {TIP: CI is a poor thermal conductor, therefore the slower you heat it, the more evenly it heats}. Different foods like different temperatures too. For example, I like to work at around 500-550F when searing off freshly stretched mountain bread (see photo), which is very thin, and prone to overcooking if your griddle/plancha is too hot. Things like crepes and dosas are even more temperature sensitive, and a thermal gun is indispensable for helping you to stay in the ideal temp range, for significantly better results and less food waste. Likes: * Ergonomic: It’s very fast (under 1 sec), accurate (+/- 2%), lightweight (4 oz), easy to use (very simple and intuitive - reading the manual is purely optional), easy to read, and has a thermal range (-58F to +1382F) that fully covers all my needs, and with plenty of room to spare. * Battery: The specs list 14hrs of cumulative runtime per 9v battery, which is more than enough to last you a year or more, even with regular daily use. * Sensor Aperture: This unit features a sensor with a nice high DSR rating of 16:1 (read: tight aperture), meaning if you hold it at the recomended distance of 14.17 inches, the circular diameter of the region being sensed centered on the siming dot is 1/16th of that, or roughly 0.88 inch (about midway in size between a Nickel and a Quarter). Minor Nits: * Battery (-1/2 star): I’m a big believer in eco-friendly rechargeable, but the designers of this gun opted for a 9v battery design, which while great for low-draw devices like smoke detectors is easily my least favorite, and least efficient formats when it comes to rechargeables. Although there may be some valid technical reasons for the 9v use, I really wish they’d gone with 3.7v 18650’s instead, or perhaps 1.2v AAAs, both of which are highly friendly to low-self-discharge 1000+ cycle rechargeables, and are easily available. * Sensor Reticle (-1/2 star): First, some disambiguation - although this product prominently mentions “laser” in the name, it only uses the laser to provide a single bright dot (your aiming reticle) so you can see where you’re pointing the sensor - the laser is NOT the actual sensing mechanism, nor does the diameter of the dot reflect the diameter of the region being sensed, which many may find confusing or unintuitive. A better pointer design would be a laser ring (multiple dots), instead of a singular dot, with the diameter of the ring matching the DSR rating of the sensor aperture, so that you can see EXACTLY the size of the area being sensed at any given range. Despite these 2 minor nits, I still highly recommend this device, which has become one of my top 10 favorite culinary tools in my kitchen. ... show more
