Description

The Fieldpiece Dual-Temperature meter, Model ST4, measures two temperatures simultaneously using the included K-Type, wrap tab beaded thermocouples. The technology inside the ST4 provides superior temperature compensation in rapidly changing environments commonly found while performing field service. Use the ST4 to find Delta T and just about any temperature split you want to measure. Displays T1, T2 and T1-T2 in big numbers on the LCD screen. Features two front face calibration pots and comes in our clear front case with Magnetic hanger model ANC6. Use with our optional Atwb1 wet bulb thermocouple to help you find target superheat or with our pipe clamp T/CS to check for blocked Dryer filters.

Very nice unit for using for checking temps on anything I want . From pool temps. to cooking uses and of course keeping a eye on A/C performance . That is a very important maintenance check here in Az. Not sure if it meets Pro AC techs expectations or not . But what more do you need than a accurate reading ? Which this unit was within a couple 10ths right out of box . Ice water test and boiling water test both right on within a 10th or 2 . Can't ask for more . Very simple calibration there is even a video to explain what to do . Mine was close enough for me out of the box . ... show more

Pros: - Fast accurate readings of two probes - Solid construction - Good battery life Cons: - Have to press a button to switch between the two probes, would be nice if both could be seen on screen at the same time - It's a tad bulky - The thermocouples it came with were poor quality and both broke quickly - The carrying case it came with is pretty bad and I ended up just tossing it ... show more

    • Easy to use and accurate
worked well and did the job- one thing to note , after setting the units of measurement turn the device off as will not go directly into reading microns but stays in the setting mode. After turning back on you can take readings in the units previously set. This is not explained in the manual and I sent my unit to Fiedpiece. They said it worked fine and sent it back still not making me aware of the fact that you needed to go from the setting mode to the reading mode.     • Mostly good
Overall somewhat disappointed in this expensive thermometer. On the positive side It's sturdy and easy to calibrate. Nice switches and rubber wrap. However as others have noted no backlight and you can't view both probes at once. The whole design seems pretty dated with 2 screws to open the battery compartment. And a 9 voltage battery is disappointing. Lasted maybe 40 hours. And on mine the Max-Min doesn't work. It says Max and Min when you push the button but it keeps on changing as they temperature changes, worthless. Probably just a flaw on mine but at this price expected better. I don't think today even a good instrument should cost this much, but after trying two cheaper ones that were just junk I am glad to have this one that reads the temperature reliably and easy to calibrate when you change probes. Today's probes seems poor quality and you do need to calibrate when you use a different one. ... show more

    • Accurate reading
Surprisingly, we bought this for our smoker. The wireless thermometers we have bought were way off in temp. My husband, who does HVAC work, suggested we should try using this meter. I have 2 probes and that plug in to the meter and cooking has been FAR more accurate.

    • Works well and controls are well thought out.
Using a calibrated mercury lab thermometer for reference, both thermocouples were within 1 degree or less at various temperatures in liquids. Both thermocouples matched each other usually exactly and never more than a couple tenths of a degree off. This is a great tool for HVAC work. And you'll find plenty of other uses for it. I didn't calibrate mine as it wasn't needed out of the box, but you have that option too. The plastic case feels like cheap overly hard plastic. But the soft armored cover is good and makes the plastic of no concern. So I think it a pretty high value instrument vs others costing much more for the same purpose. ... show more

    • Very accurate
This meter is very accurate and works great. I found the included thermocouples cumbersome to work with so I went out and bought the clamp on style. I turned the included thermocouples into wet bulb thermocouples with an old hollow shoe string and alligator clips.

    • Quality temperature meter
I love this thing. My GF thinks I'm crazy because I take reading all across my house. Ideal for measuring delta T temps from return and supply. I also use it to measure subcooling and superheat. Easy to use and calibrate using ice water.
