I have to take my temperature daily due to an autoimmune issue & after losing my little temperature log *again* decided to upgrade to this thermometer. I already had the same product, just without the Bluetooth. For someone like me, who has to take my temperature regularly, this was absolutely worth the (minimal) investment! If you only take your temperature occasionally, it may or may not be worth the cost. Regardless of your specific needs, I highly recommend the line of Braun ThermoScan thermometers. This thermometer hands-down is top notch makes taking my daughter’s temperature very easy. She never gives us a problem when we asked to take a temperature record very accurately and quickly because you know how it is to try to have a toddler sit still for more than 10 seconds. Just received this thermometer, so I can’t speak to longevity just yet. Will update my review if there are any issues there. However, I will say I am immediately impressed by this little device. Good, sleek size and design. Connecting to the Brain Family Care app was quick and easy. The thermometer itself is fairly simple to use if you didn’t want to utilize the app or if someone in your family wanted to use it without the app. Using it with the app seems nice also. You select the age range of the individual, take the temp (which is quick and seems accurate so far), and when it syncs with the app (which is nearly instant if you happen to have the app open already) the reading shows up there and you can assign it to the appropriate family member. It shows the past readings, assigned to each family member, and shows the latest synced reading for each member of the family on the main screen of the app. Will even create a graph to see trends, which makes my Registered Nurse brain happy. As a bonus, I was pleasantly surprised to see the thermometer came with two name brand AA batteries. I’m sure that was in the listing, but I didn’t notice it beforehand. Happy to have a thermometer in my house that doesn’t use dangerous button batteries. We try to minimize things that use those. This is awesome and you should just buy it. The app is surprisingly helpful. It really takes guess work out of the temperature trending data. It also has a feature that allows you to track when you administer medication, and track symptoms, questions, and other useful tidbits. My only complaint and the reason a star is missing is because they don't allow you to manually enter which medication you administered. You must select from a list of pre-existing medications, so if you are using homeopathic remedies, you can't track them here. It seems like low hanging fruit to make the app much better, please do a software update. ... show more

I’m a family medicine physician. We needed a personal thermometer at home when caring for our kids, and we replaced a forehead thermometer with this one. The forehead version was simply inaccurate - it gave too much variation from minute-to-minute, and sometimes read temperatures over 105, which I knew weren’t accurate. Small children often run high temperatures into the 103-104 range in the evenings when fevers tend to be at their highest, but a reasonably playful and active child simply won’t have a temp of 105 or higher, so I lost any confidence in the other one. It also provoked a lot of unnecessary anxiety for my wife. This version is consistent and appears to be accurate after quite a number of uses, and it’s very easy to use. I would definitely recommend it over the forehead version we had previously, and a reliable and consistent thermometer is worth the money to me. ... show more
