  • Very useful
I originally ordered this to monitor the thermal profile of various battery types under heavy loads during performance and capacity testing, along with the associated custom load testing rig, wiring, and probes. For this purpose it has been fantastic. It might not be a high-end device, but I have honestly been impressed by the amount of useful functionality that can be built into a device like this without costing a fortune. The display is quite small. But large enough nonetheless to still be useful and get the job done. The "TISR" feature (Thermal Image Super Resolution) seems to be more than just some basic upsampling gimmick to my eyes, offering genuinely improved definition, targeting the central 240x240 portion of (what I am pretty sure) is the vertically oriented 2.8" 320x240 display with a 1:1 mapping of TISR-enhanced sensor pixels to display pixels. The unused display area at the top and the bottom of the screen is populated by information overlays so as not to encroach into the sensor rendering area. It's a neat way to optimize usage of the rectangular display. The user interface and menu system here are intuitive enough, and a nice array of imaging modes, color mapping options and image quality tweaks are available. Digging deeper into the settings gets you more goodies including auto power off options, language selection, temperature range settings, temperature alarms, a range of OSD toggles (high/low/center temp spot reticles and various indicators), temperature unit settings (Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin), ambient temperature calibration, distance and emissivity settings for optimizing temperature measurement accuracy of different surfaces from different distances in different conditions, adjustments to align the two camera images for a given distance for the Fusion imaging mode, and more. There really is quite a comprehensive array of useful settings and options here. Actually using the camera has been an overall pleasant experience. And honestly, quite fun at times. I spend most of my time in Fusion mode which overlays the heat map onto a normal camera capture. As above, you need to calibrate it for different distances to properly "fuse" the two images, but it's worth the hassle when I am going to spend time focusing on a particular project. You can also use the camera for temperature spot measurements, which, when properly configured for distance and material/emissivity, has proven to be significantly more accurate than my infrared thermometers when compared to a reference value taken by a physical temperature probe. And in my experience so far the active hot and cold spot tracking feature has worked very well. I didn't appreciate the utility of this until I started paying proper attention to it. The unit feels nice enough to hold. Not too heavy overall, and not too top heavy. The grip is plastic, but still comfortable and the trigger and buttons are well placed. The camera cover does in fact lock away; you just have to push it back further than it might feel like you should and it will snap down and stay put. A long-press of the OK button gets you a flashlight which might have utility beyond its primary purpose in an emergency. Type-C charging, and very good battery life in my opinion, along with a MicroSD slot for image and video capture round this out into a super useful, very capable thermal imaging camera that is better than many you will find in this price range, and even beyond it in certain well-known hardware stores. My only complaint is one you can't really escape without spending much, much more: frequent IR camera calibration operations resulting in momentary pauses, which can sometimes be annoying. It's not a fault, and is necessary for maintaining accuracy. It's a nice little thermal imaging camera in my opinion, at a decent price. I love having it around. (Note: In the "About Equipment" section of the Settings menu, this "Aicevoos AS-X60" actually reports as an "MY96 Pro". Some research strongly suggests that this is the underlying model number for a number of nearly physically identical thermal imaging cameras with identical specifications.) ... show more

  • Very cool device
I’m having fun with this thing being that it’s my first device like it. You’d be surprised all the kinds of things you can use it for if you get creative. The ability to swap colors and record is cool. I find it a bit slow to respond in terms of frame rate on screen and what’s in front. Seems to be accurate. This really can be a useful tool in your life like it is mine. I wish it was smaller and the resolution were higher but it’s not too bad. Really fun device. ... show more

  • Finally got my hands on one of these—an absolute lifesaver for finding hidden drafts!
I have seriously wanted a thermal imaging camera forever, and I finally have my own to run around the house with. If you are a homeowner, or just someone who loves tackling DIY projects, this thing is an absolute game-changer. I was constantly guessing where our drafty spots were, but this completely takes the guesswork out of finding those annoying heat leaks and cold spots around windows, doors, and outlets. Seems to be versatile and accurate in locating those hot/cold spots Using it is super straightforward. You definitely want to take a few minutes to read through the instructions first just to get a feel for the different color palettes, but once you set it up to your personal preferences, you are ready to walk around and take care of business. The dual-camera setup is awesome because it blends the actual visual picture with the thermal image, so you actually know exactly what object you are looking at instead of just staring at a blurry blob of colors. The build quality is another major plus. It has a really solid, rugged feel to it—it’s not overly heavy or bulky in the hand, but it feels tough enough to easily survive an accidental drop on a concrete garage floor. The battery life has also been fantastic so far. It holds a charge really well, and I love that it charges via a standard USB-C cable (which they actually include in the box), so I don’t have to worry about carrying around some proprietary charger. Honestly, seeing exactly where your home is losing energy is eye-opening, and this tool is going to save us a ton on our heating and cooling bills. It is a high-quality, reliable piece of gear that is totally worth the price! ... show more

  • Impressive performance for the money
This thermal camera delivers clear imaging, fast response, and a solid feature set for inspections. The dual camera design makes it easy to compare thermal and visible views, and the solid refresh rate keeps movement smooth while scanning. The super resolution mode noticeably sharpens details, giving a clearer picture than standard low rez sensors. Temperature tracking is quick and accurate, and the automatic Max, Min, and Center readings help identify issues without extra steps. The wide field of view is useful for covering larger areas, and the adjustable temperature range works well for both home and professional use. The laser pointer, color palettes, and USB screen casting add convenience for detailed checks. Battery life is strong, and the build feels sturdy enough for home use and even light field work. With SD card support and simple controls, it’s a reliable tool for anyone who needs clear thermal imaging and smooth real‑time performance. Good value for the money. ... show more

  • Great thermal camera for the price Great thermal camera for the price
Easy to use with a lot of customization. You'll see in the review photo a measurement of the lawn. I was hoping for an answer as to why a patch of grass was dying, but could only see why it was getting worse. The dying patch gets 7-8° hotter than the surrounding grass. Not something that will help grass regrow. The build quality is pretty solid. I wouldn't go dropping this thing but the lens cap is a nice safety addition. This is accurate enough for professional use, but there are all kinds of things you can use this around the house for. Find a gap in refrigerator gaskets. Find gaps in weather stripping. Search your walls for poor/missing insulation. Narrow down where a slab leak could be. Find what electronics are on. You can even see if a circuit in a utility panel is working by looking at the fuse. The "fusion" mode merches the IR with regular camera. My only complaint is that on such a small screen, I found it underwhelming. The higher resolution image is difficult to see. I've been keeping it on "IR" mode. For the price, this is a great deal with tons of features. Unless you need to keep a distance for safety reasons, you probably don't need a higher resolution. The name brand thermal cameras can get way more expensive. ... show more

  • Cost effective and portable thermal imaging solution Cost effective and portable thermal imaging solution
I picked this up mainly to chase down insulation problems in a Michigan winter and find a few mystery hot spots in the breaker panel, and it does that job really well. The FLIR-style dual camera fusion view is handy, you get the thermal image plus a regular image so you can tell exactly which outlet or stud you are looking at instead of guessing from a blob of color. The image is sharper than I expected at this resolution and the refresh feels smooth when you sweep across a wall, you are not waiting for the screen to catch up. It locked onto the hottest and coldest spots in the frame right away, which made it easy to see where cold air was spilling in around our back door and recessed lights. The description suggests there's a laser pointer here but I find no mention of it in the manual nor in the settings/UI nor anything that looks like a laser on the front. Menu navigation with the buttons feels clunky and unintuitive. The flip-up cover is nice to keep the lens protected in storage but I had trouble with it wanting to constantly flip down while in use - one star knocked off as this should have some mechanism to keep it flipped up while using. There's an 8GB microSD card included which is a nice touch, sadly it doesn't mount when plugged in via USB (just for charging it seems) so you'll need to shuffle the card around to offload images and videos. There's a trigger on the pistol grip to take a photo or video but with a bit of latency, not that I'd suspect anyone is trying to line up an action shot here so that probably won't matter much. For the value, this sits in a nice sweet spot. It feels more like a real diagnostic tool than a toy, but it is still simple enough that a homeowner can grab it, plug in the USB C cable to charge, and start finding problems in a few minutes. Being able to save images and video to a card and pull them up on a computer later is a nice touch when you want to document issues or share them with a contractor. Overall it does what the listing claims in a very user friendly way and earns a spot in my regular home maintenance kit. ... show more

  • Works pretty well and easy to tell where the hotspot is at on everything! Works pretty well and easy to tell where the hotspot is at on everything!
I have always wanted a thermal camera because I work on computers and RC cars and other electronics a lot, but they were always out of range of my budget so when i saw this I was happy and wanted to see how it is! Build quality is really good and feels like a power tool so it does have a solid durable feeling to it, and for being my first thermal camera it still was simple to figure out even without reading the instructions first so i was able to start using it right away, the lcd is pretty clear to see and sharp for being just a small screen all the buttons and the pull trigger feels good and has a tactile feeling to them which you can also hear, and I like that it already comes with a SD card which is 8gb in size that also has software on it to see reports on the images I took so that is pretty neat, now keep in mind windows defender treats it as a virus as it does with 90 percent of exe files which it is not so I told it not to delete it. Now I am not a pro while using thermal cameras but I was able to easily tell where the hot spot temps is with this camera on my laptops and desktops, and it does come in very handy for me because I now can tell if a component is having a problem on a motherboard or other devices and as you can see by the samples I’ve shown I now know my laptop is running at safe temperatures as it should and I also wanted to see what my cat looks like which looks pretty cool also! And as shown I can take photos and even videos with the included 8gb SD card that was already in it, which i was very surprised when i played it back on my computer it had a smooth frame rate so the performance is pretty good. Now I can't say if it has 100 percent accuracy because again this is my first thermal camera, But in my opinion I think its doing a pretty good job and very close to accurate or 100 percent. I also like that it also has a flash light built in also which at first I did not know it had one, so that is pretty cool also. So I do really like this thermal camera and really glad I got one now, and the value in my opinion is very reasonable for the features it has. So it gets a solid 5 stars from me and I'm pretty happy with it for over a month I had it so far👍 ... show more

  • Very useful tool in finding hot and cold spots Very useful tool in finding hot and cold spots
This thermal imaging camera is quite impressive with detecting temperature fluctuations on various surfaces. The camera is able to find hot or cold spots in your walls, doorways, or any surface you can think of. You can adjust the settings to show a black and white screen with white color showing up as warmer than surrounding areas or vice versa. You can also set it to show colors representing difference temperature differences. On screen there will be two dots representing the coldest point and the hottest point along with their temperature reading and the temp reading of the center point of the screen. This tool is really neat as it updates this data in real time as you point it towards different surfaces. This functions great to detect areas in walls and doorways where cold air is getting in. You can even use it outside at night to detect animals showing their heat signatures although may not be effective on areas more than 100 feet away. I'm having a fun time going around and checking different areas for heat signatures. This comes with a USB charging cord. You can get a reading and snap a picture of the screen or even take a video of it. You can insert an SD card to save images and videos to be later examined on a PC or laptop. The only flaw I can find is there is a lens cover that opens by folding up however it can easily fall back down and cover your lens unintentionally while in use. ... show more
