    • Makes good ice
This icemaker does put out nice crunchable ice. It's easy to operate but they don't tell you enough about the operation in the booklet. After water goes in and you turn it on, you will see some water coming out of where the ice comes out for a few seconds. Then in about 15 minutes, bits of ice come out. But you will have to just let it run for like an hour and a half for the ice bucket to fill up. Then I suggest putting the ice in a gallon bag then in the freezer. Because since the machine doesn't keep the ice cold, there is some melting. So if you store it in a bag, you can bang the bag when you are ready to use the ice and it will break it up. I then fill my upper ice maker tray and use it like normal. ... show more

We RV and were needing a new ice maker, when we started looking, we found the nugget ice makers and were very intrigued. A friend has one like this and said it was best thing they have owned. After a little looking around we decided on the Thereye brand. It came in very secure packaging, plenty of foam and double boxed to help protect the machine. Upon unboxing the machine is ready to go out of the box. We set it up inside the RV coach to keep an eye on it for the first few hours. We did a quick read over the directions, plugged it in and added some water. With in just a few minutes we had ice nuggets. With in a short time, we had enough to make a cocktail. The nuggets are rock hard not soft and mushy like we have had in other ice machines. We have read other brands are noisy and were an annoyance. The Thereye brand ran nice and quiet, in fact with it sitting right on the counter beside us in the in coach we were still able to watch TV and carry on a normal conversation. Noise from the machine is not an issue. The machine is easy to operate with buttons easy to see and reach, large door for easy access. Large ice basket stores a lot of ice. In fact, I may need to hook up the water supply as I believe we will be using more ice now. Got to be time to go home and I needed to drain the machine, which was a breeze, the drain lines were able to extend right to the sink. We didn’t have to lift up the machine or dump, the drain lines worked perfect. We now have this in place in our outdoor kitchen in our coach and ready for the next party.     • Great ice machine.
This is my second purchase of this ice machine. The first one I bought ended up getting a leak somewhere up by where the ice extrudes after about a year of heavy (24/7) operation and unfortunately wasn't repairable - but despite this issue its STILL cranking out ice like a champ. The machine was never once descaled, so I'm guessing with regular maintenance as instructed in the owners manual it will last much longer. Overall I strongly recommend this one. ... show more

I've only had this ice maker for three weeks, so we'll see how it holds up! I wanted a nugget ice maker for "Sonic" ice. I don't have an ice maker at my current apartment, and making ice in trays is a chore that I find tedious. I decided to give this ice maker a shot. So far it's working well. It makes the "good nice"! It is pretty loud, comparable to our dishwasher but constantly running. One thing that bothers me is that the cleaning mineral scale instructions aren't clear. The booklet says to add vinegar when running self clean, but doesn't say how much or give a general ratio. I emailed customer service the day I got the ice machine for clarification. I know these types of ice machines have a history of breaking down and pointing to scale/cleaning as the cause, so I wanted to make sure I was following the maker's guidance. Three weeks later and no response from customer service. This makes me fear they may not be responsive when/if I have issues down the road. ... show more

After my parents got one, everyone in the family wants one. This is the fifth one purchased in our family! It makes amazing ice and is so simple to use. My parents have had theirs for nearly a year now, and it's still working as well as it did on the first day.

My wife wanted a secondary ice maker, but I resisted thinking the ice would melt too fast making it near useless. However, the ice stayed fairly intact after the bin filled up. I like the little ice "cubes," but they do dissolve in your drink much quicker than larger ice cubes. It makes ice quickly. I use the ice maker in an air conditioned house. If I set it up outside in the Florida heat, I doubt the ice would last in the bin nearly as long. Overall I'm mildly surprised and would recommend it as an ice making alternative. ... show more

    • I love my ice maker but..
I’m loving this ice maker, it seems to put the ice out quite reliably. My only issue is that the self clean mode seems not to be working. I push the self clean for the 3 seconds and it makes some odd noises, the ‘clean’ light stays on for a bit then the machine shuts off, nothing else happens. Maybe I’m not doing something right but I’m not sure what the problem could be ... show more
