Befor receiving this headrest I was very skeptical about the value of this headrest. The price seemed exorbitant but I was intrigued because of the good reviews and the apparent adjustability of the the headrest. I figured that I would have nothing to lose by trying one given Amazon's great customer service and dedication to customer satisfaction, if it didn't work out I could return it. I was to be very pleasantly surprised. Upon receiving the unit I found it very easy to center and install. The position adjustments (2 swivel points and 1 height adjustment) for the headrest are great. There are two pivot points and one elevation adjustment. By combining these 3 adjustments in various settings it is relatively easy to find comfortable settings for different purposes. For example, by using the lowest pivot the headrest can be moved forward to meet your head or neck while sitting upright while computing, etc. For a more laid back setting while reclining the lower pivot can be used to pull the headrest rearward. The other two adjustments can make compensatory adjustments to keep the headrest at a comfortable angle. I must say the designer of this unit hit it out of the park as I can get adjustments for any purpose sitting upright or reclining. The appearance matches the chair perfectly and makes the chair look more complete, modern and exotic. The build quality of the headrest is equal to the build quality of the Aeron Chair itself. This is the missing link that kept me from getting the greatest possible comfort and enjoyment from my Aeron Chair. I am well into my tenth year of owning my chair and I have enjoyed the chair itself from day one. I suffer from spondylolisthesis at L5 (bad lower back) and this chair has been a real benefit for my back. Now, with the addition of this headrest, I have to say that my Aeron chair is virtually perfect for my needs. I wish it had been an option 10 years ago I had no idea what I have been missing. I would never and could never do without this wonderful addition. And I am glad I didn't waste time with the cheaper model sold here at Amazon, 1) It lacks the adjustability of this unit and 2) It doesn't match the overall look right down to the pellicle fabric. This headrest complements and finishes the Aeron Chair perfectly. This headrest is worth every penny. I just wish I had been able to get one with the chair when I first got it. One important note: The included instructions are very short and lacking in detailed information. For example, there is no information about adjusting tension at the two pivot points which is an important feature possible with this unit. I emailed Vendor Gear and got their Website address and found some very valuable videos and instructions for adjusting the tension and positioning of the headrest. Here is the link for their Website: aeronheadrest dot com and of course, take out the spaces and replace the word "dot" with a "." (evidently URL's are automatically removed from reviews but this URL is of critical importance to anyone buying this wonderful accessory) Finally, to sum up, this is a fantastic addition to a great chair and worth every penny. Update 10/10/12: Oddly, my lower back is loving the headrest as well. I suspect that due to the addition of the headrest I have improved my sitting posture to the point that I am feeling the full benefit and support of the Aeron chair. This item continues to impress me with its value. Update 10/20/12: Turns out my Aeron Chair was NOT complete as stated in the title to this review! Two days ago I installed the Posture Fit Aeron Chair Adjustable Graphite G1 PostureFit Lumbar Support Pad Large Size C - Genuine Herman Miller Parts for your Aeron Home Office Desk Task Chair - Graphite G1 Adjustable Posture Fit Lumbar Lower Back Support Cushion Only Now with the headrest and the Posture Fit Lumbar Support my Aeron Chair is updated and fully transformed. What a difference in back support and comfort. I am amazed at how much better the chair supports my spine. The Posture Fit Support helps to rotate the pelvis forward optimizing the back's position while seated. With the headrest and the lumbar support I am very happy. NOW my Aeron Chair is truly complete!

The headrest is supposed to adjust in the tension. The instructions say to get a fingernail under it to pay off thr bold covers... this is pretty much impossible. The covers don't come off to get to the bolt underneath to adjust the headpieces tension. Otherwise, it's pretty good. But for over 100 bucks, you should be able to get to those without literally having to destroy the plastic cover to get to it.

Works nice on my Herman Miller chair. A little annoying to get right for your neck and the clips they send help...some. I don't think it's worth the price but I did keep mine because I sit at my desk all day for work if I'm not standing. I also wish the headrest came forward just a tad more so I didn't have to sit my head back so far when working and not just leaning back.

First off, I was torn for days on ordering this because the reviews are all over the place. The item looked good on paper and seemed well matched and well made, but some reviews seemed like you'd be getting a piece of plastic worth 5 dollars, tops... Well, ignore most of the reviews, because I went ahead and ordered it despite them, and it's actually great. I just bought my aeron chair, and am relatively happy with it, but like many people, since it's primarily for long gaming sessions, neck support helps a lot. Herman Miller does not make an OEM add-on for neck support, so third party is the only option, and there's a solid amount of options, and they're all around $100. I'm happy with this one, and so long as I keep the chair, will keep this. The quality is good, and the weave matches damn near perfectly. There's two minor issues with it. For one, the locking mechanism doesn't tighten it to be 100% secure in its position, you can still force it around, but it wont move on its own from normal neck movements. I saw this complaint a lot in reviews, making it sound as if it wouldn't maintain its setting; rest assured, it does. Secondly, if you're a headphone user (and by headphones I mean large size gaming or reference headphones, not buds, this might not work for you unless you're willing to compromise. The first position I found to be comfortable was my upper neck and head, but, the problem is, unless your head is the size of a peanut, large headphones will whack against the sides of this headrest. I found the second most comfortable position to be the lower neck just above the shoulders. I can still lean my head back, and the headphones have just enough clearance to not hit the plastic. This might not work for everyone, but I would assume it would be fine for most people. I also saw complaints of the vertical positioning being loose, well, again, I'm not sure why they're complaining, because the company sent stopper clips for my unit, and they work flawlessly to lock the vertical positioning in place. Perhaps this wasn't an addition in earlier sold units, but it is now, so that complaint is also mute. In the end, I'm glad I grabbed it. I've only used it for a day so far but as of now, I'm impressed. If something changes, I'll be sure to update.

The headrest is an absolute dead-ringer for the Aeron chair. Spot on. For ME, however, it is not able to be adjusted FORWARD enough. It may work for folks who sit leaning back. But I've never sat like that... at work or at home. HM may be quite correct when they say the Aeron really does not require a headrest for ergonomics. I like the headrest for aesthetics.
