  • Best Freezer Cookbook
I bought several of these freezer cookbooks. This one is my favorite. I am not going to spend a whole day cooking for a month. I wanted a book that showed me how to cook a meal for tonight and make extra to freeze for later. This one has directions for both finishing part right then, and for freezing for later. It works out great. I also think this has the best recipies. Everything I have tried has been great. The recipe for South of the Border Lasagna is worth the price of the book. My husband grabbed the frozen one just the next week to have for dinner. These are not "light" recipies; they are tasty! ... show more

  • Not for everyone
This is a decent cookbook if you have no dietary restrictions, but very few recipes are diabetic friendly or even especially "healthy." For example, the glazed meatloaf calls for 2 2/3 cups of ketchup (plus brown sugar), and has 47g of carbs (I know - it's glazed meatloaf!). Thankfully, nutrition information is included so you really know what you're getting into, but for me that also disqualified the majority of recipes in the book. It lists calories per serving, but doesn't tell what a serving size is. There is some good information and tips about freezing for those of us new to the OAMC idea. Included is a chapter for slow cookers, which I always like, and a good glossary of cooking terms, freezing charts, etc. Overall it's a good book, just not for me. I'll keep looking for the right book since special cooking for one is such a hassle. ... show more

  • Made a few already
I love the recipes and the way it's laid out. I couldn't wait to get it and use it. And that's what I did, made a few meals to freeze with stuff I had on hand already. Going to try some more recipes soon! Wasn't expecting a dessert section! And I am loving the Chocolate Banana Nut Bread (no nuts in mine though lol). Its a great cookbook and there are tips, charts, a glossary right before the index. Enjoying it! ... show more

  • great buy
I'm not of a cookbook person, but I saw this originally in the library, and there were so many pages I marked to copy I decided to buy it for myself. The recipes are normal foods that families would eat, no strange ingredients. Very clear instructions. Lots of recipes for homemade sauces or marinades, and the nutritional value is provided if you are watching calories, carbs, salt or fat. I have since purchased a few other copies of the books to give to friends. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great freezer cookbook!
I felt compelled to leave this review because I have enjoyed this cook book so much. I have now made several of the recipes: the lemon chicken, freezer PB &J sandwiches, chicken fingers (I made into nuggets), and the french bread pizzas. The cookbook has a ton of recipes and great freezer information on what to freeze and how. I have read quite a few freezer cookbooks, and the recipes always seemed strange or like things that my family wouldn't eat. This cookbook is not like that. I am a busy working mom of 3 who has always dreamed that I could make most of the things my family eats, instead of relying on going out to eat, take out, or that blue box of mac and cheese. I took a few hours and made several of the recipes and then just heated it up for dinner. It was great and even my picky kids liked it. I look forward to trying more of the recipes in the future. ... show more

  • Good tips but recipes need tweaking
I made lasagna and couldn't figure out why (because I filled the directions to the letter) I had so many extra noodles and about half the sauce I needed. The proportions were off. Some other recipes (including the lasagna) were BLAND. Some were good. Overall I wasn't very impressed.

  • This is the place to find quick, easy meals
I have made 8 dishes out of this cookbook and am very pleased. Most recipes are only 5 ingredients and take less than 20 minutes to put together. It's nice to have an entire week meals made and all you have to do is pull them out and cook. I put the defrosting and cooking instructions on each bag so that my husband or kids could get dinner started before I got home. ... show more
