Our 8-week old Chickies figured out how to use the feeder fairly quickly. It works very well for our 14 pullets and could certainly accommodate more. It holds a good amount of feed and is super simple and easy to refill. Missing multiple types of feed, such as crumbles plus a grain blend, is easy to do as well. Be warned that it takes some time to assemble, but it's well worth the effort. It's very attractive and well-built with quality materials.

I bought 2 of these. I've been through more than one feeder trying to find something that will hold a decent amount of food but keep it dry of it off the floor. I've only had them in the coops for a little over a week but so far so good. The assembly was easy, a little tedious but for what it is, it wasn't bad! It had all the parts, the parts quality was solid, nothing bent or broken, it was all sturdy. The price was amazing and it holds a lot of feed! Not quite 50lbs but really close I mean within a scoop or two of being close. I think it depends on what size feed granules you have and what brand it is as to if you can fit 50lbs. I've seen mixed reviews on it but for me, this holds enough that I don't have to go out there as often to drop feed.

Love the design. Was a little bummed that I went to empty a standard 50lb bag of feed into the feeder but the feeder started overflowing after 80% of the bag was emptied. Not sure why it’s called a 50lb feeder…

This is a great chicken feeder if you need to leave your chickens for just over a week. We have 16 chickens and it kept them fed for just over 8 days. It’s not super sturdy metal but is better when assembled. I would suggest silicone or using some type of waterproof spray along the seams when you assemble it and before you put the chicken feed in it. We did not do that and had to empty it out and re-seal because water came in through the middle screw holes. Super easy to assemble and has two nice handles on the side for caring if you need to. Do not pick it up by the handle on the lid it will bend. I wish it had some type of triangular lid because the chickens do roost on top of it and make it messy. Hope that helps and we’re extremely happy with it; it made feeding easier.

Very bummed that I spent $80 on this! The 4 walls, lid and floor are all separate pieces that need assembling with screws and washers. The lid is very hard to fit on bc it’s near impossible to get the feeder perfectly level and squared at each corner. The legs felt cheap, as if the feeder would be too top heavy and be able to tip over, so I did not install them, instead I propped it on cinder blocks. My feeder is under a shader, not waterproof but it does shield it from some of the rain. With our first rain the seed inside got super wet and started to sprout and mold. Wish I would have gone with a feeder that was more seamless and a better design.

Love these! They work perfect! I have 6 chickens & 1 rooster. I keep these filled with 5-6 parts layer feed to one part scratch. Don’t have to top off but once a week. Mine are all free range. And I bought one for my chicken-person neighbor. Great gift !

This TGEYD 50LB automatic chicken feeder has made managing my flock so much easier. It holds a lot of feed—lasts a long time for my 9 hens—so I’m not refilling it constantly. I’ve noticed way less waste thanks to the gravity-fed opening. My chickens figured it out quickly and had no issues using it. It’s made from sturdy materials and feels like it will last a long time. Assembly was simple, and it comes with everything needed for setup. Definitely a great investment for anyone who wants to save time and reduce feed mess.

I have not had this product for a year. It was purchased May of 2025. The inside has already started to become discolored and rusting. It is not rodent protected. I'm really upset with quality of the product. Food will get stuck in the corners of the bin, you will have to use a small brush to remove the particles. If any moisture gets inside the food will start to sour and mold. I advise not to fill to the full amount. The only good thing is it is light weight and easy to move around. My girls really don't like eating out of it. Your always having to move the food around so they can reach the food without problems. I will not waste my money on this product again.
