Tetra whisper IQ power filter 10 gallons: I love the adjustable flow. I wanted a hob for my 10 gallon cory fry tank, the sponge filter just wasn’t cutting it on keeping the tank looking clean. The 1st hob I tried didn’t have an adjustable flow and the fry were clearly struggling in the current it created. So I got this tetra filter. I’ve only had it running a few days but so far couldn’t be happier with it. I have it on a medium/low flow setting and it’s perfect for the fry. It was easy to set up. I didn’t use the adjustable intake tube, that would have been too long. Without the intake tube, the intake sits right in the middle of the tank. And a small intake pre filter sponge fits nicely on it, don’t even need to secure it with a zip tie. I cut some filter sponges to fit where the disposable cartridges go. I also love it has an internal pump, why some others don’t have an internal pump is beyond me. It’s not very noisy which is nice also. All in all, the adjustable flow and easy pre filter sponge application/maintenance makes the 10 gallon filter a great fry tank filter in my opinion. Worked pretty well. This design does kinda rely on your tank being level - water started to flow around the filter instead of through it when our tank was off-level. Not really a problem for most tanks though, and it went away when we got our tank level. The sound of the waterfall is louder than the sound of the motor. After the pump was primed, it didn't seem to be a big deal if the water wasn't up to the minimum water line. We've only had ours running for a few weeks so I have no comments on longevity. ... show more

pretty good filter. ngl, it's quiet for sure, I am able to sleep with it on in my room and its decently sized so that you can also customize it with your own sponges as well as filter media. Also talk about the price on this thing its pretty good bang for your buck. I would honestly recommend this for beginners and people starting out their tanks, then they could move to more complicated stuff like airstone filters, sumps, and etc. Overall loving the product. ... show more

At first I was so confused on how to assemble this filter. But after some more reading the manual and using common sense it was easy to figure out 😅 it seems to be working good, it arrived today so I’ve only had it in my tank for a few hours. I love how the water flow is adjustable Its pretty quiet on the lowest flow setting but even on the highest water flow it’s still not that loud just sounds like flowing water which I like anyways. Water does splash out of the tank though as it flows out especially on the highest setting so to remedy that i just filled my tank up with more water until it reached right at the lip of the output of the water flow. I would give it 5 stars but it took me longer than it should to figure out assembly 🤣 I’m using this in my 20 gallon aquarium for my turtle so it is kinda bulky on the side of my tank but that doesn’t bother me all that much. This filter is amazing. My old one was noisy and broke. My tank was getting to the point where it was green. It was still very foggy and hard to see through after a change since my old filter stopped working. In 24 hours this filter has the water in my tank clear as day. Thank you so much. Not bad for the price, easy setup and worked as needed other than it doesn’t suck up much and it started falling apart over time after only maybe a year of having it. And just recently it completely stopped working. Quality is okay but for the price you can’t be too mad about it.
